We have just returned from the most fantastic holiday in France. Chateau de la Marroniere was the perfect place to spend 6 days, unwinding with the family. The hosts Marie-Helene and Francoise are the most kind and generous people you could ever hope to meet and they both went out of their way to make us all feel relaxed and...

We booked for one night and extended our stay for another in this beautifully restored chateau. Our bedroom was spacious with a huge ensuite. The breakfast was lovely with a selection of the owner's home made jams. The lovely swimming in the garden was a bonus for relaxing.

We have travelled throughout France many times over the years. Chateau de la Marronniere stands out as one of the nicest places we have ever stayed at. Set in 30 acres of tranquil, quiet, beautiful garden and woodland, the chateau is elegant and an architectural delight. Beautifully restored, but not overly so. The hosts, Francois and Marie-Helene are amazing. On...

We'd booked Chateau de la Marronniere for a couple of nights, mainly as a stopover on our way back from the Pyrenees. We were looking forward to a bit of exploration of the Vendee but hadn't, based not the website, focussed a lot on what Le Chateau might be like. But, wow, what a find!! Expectations are set as soon...

I went for a wedding a stayed with my mother there for three days. Beautiful garden, lots of space, very pleasant swimming pool, and very attentive service by the owners themselves. They made a fabulous job renovating the premises and are very keen to explain the history of the place. We look forward to visiting again.

Super place to stay with a warm welcome of a cup of tea in the garden. Chateau is decorated to a high standard and all bathroom fixtures and fittings are solid and work. All the rooms are large and well appointed. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the hall. Own entrance so can come and go. Pool area well...

We spent a lovely 2 nights at the chateau which has been carefully and elegantly decorated to a very high standard. The delightful host and hostess received us with a warm welcome. The bedroom was spacious, as was the bathroom, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed a relaxed breakfast with fresh local produce, a selection of breads and...

We were totally taken aback by Chateau de la Marronniere. The website really doesn't do it justice - the building, rooms and setting are even better than presented. On arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owners (Francois-Xavier and Marie-Helene) and then given a tour of the chateau and shown to our room. Francois brought us a drink in the...

We enjoyed a warm welcome by the owners Mr and Mrs d'Halluin, The lounge and dining room offered a very comfortable and cosy environment with an open fireplace to enjoy after dinner. The room was spacious and...

We have just returned from a holiday in France touring Brittany and the Vendee region and I have to say the highlight was stumbling across this magnificent place to stay. The interior of the house is decorated so beautifully that my wife spent considerable time documenting it photographically. It really is finished with the utmost taste and French country style....
