Garden of Eden-meet-Shangrila in this piece of mountain paradise in the High Atlas. Gorgeous garden with cosy and secret nook and corners to relax, chill or read a book. Tranquil ambience overlooking the Atlas Mountains with picturesque view all around. A classy and luxurious setting. Our fabulous room in the Pool Suite with the glorious view of the snow-capped mountain...

I had been told this was an amazing hotel, so expectations were sky high, but I was not disappointed. The situation could hardly be better with wonderful views in all directions, The building is well and sensitively designed and the staff were efficient and friendly. We were lucky enough not to need the fire in our room as it became...

Back again for two separate stopovers during a fortnight's self-drive around Morocco. The standards do not slip. Considerable and reliable help given in arranging transport for our 1000 mile drive and also dependable recommendations for consideration received on other riads at which to stay as we travelled. The atmosphere at KBO remains outstanding and we found our co-guests most convivial.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. A lovely hotel with excellent views and very good service. We were a little unlucky with the weather - it didn't get much above 12 degs in the day and very cold at night. But being in the mountains this must be common and so you would have thought the hotel would...

I visited this property briefly on a lunch stop two years ago, vowing to return to spend a few nights. The Deluxe rooms are great with fireplaces for cold winter nights. In fact, fireplaces are located in several common rooms downstairs so as to invite curling up. The food was delicious and fresh and reasonably priced for the quality/quantity. The...

The location of the Kasba Bab Ourika is spectacular. One has to make an effort from Ourika village, about 3km dirt road, but it's definitely worth it. Wonderful views onto High Atlas and the surrounding hills. We had a little lunch up there which was ok. There are huge gardens with many different retreat possibilities, pool, lounges. A very nice...

The hotel is positioned to have the most exquisite views of the High Atlas mountains. The rooms are well appointed and spacious. The staff are anxious to make you comfortable and even built a fire in the fireplace in my room to take the chill off the cool January night. The grounds are extensive with a beautiful pool and terraces...

Suffice it to say that it would be enough to come all the way to Morocco/Marrakesh to experience the exquisite beauty, location and spirit of this hate. Everything from the beautifully appointed rooms, to the exceptional aesthetic, the responsive and kindest staff, and particularly the landscape and the surrounding scenery make this more like a convent retreat than a commercial...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 days before Christmas and we cannot say enough good things about it. The location is stunning (views of the High Atlas were incredible), amenities are fabulous and the food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is outstanding. In addition, kasbah staff arranged for a local guide to accompany us for 2 days of hiking...

We visited a few days ago for lunch having visited the seven falls. We emailed ahead and were a little late arriving, but the staff were very welcoming and our lunch was superb. The hotel is in a quite remote location and the last couple of miles is a rough road, but our little Dacia hire car made it, just....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bab Ourika perches majestically on a hilltop at the apex of the Ourika Valley, guarding the gateway to the snow-capped Atlas Mountains – yet it is only 45 minutes from Marrakech’s International airport. With 360 degree panoramic views, this innovative new hotel receives warm sunlight all day, ending in spectacular sunsets. From its unique eyrie-like position it offers a birds eye view of the Atlas, of traditional Berber villages and of the lush river valley below. The Kasbah is one of the most eco-friendly hotels in Morocco; constructed principally from rammed earth, the traditional Berber building technique, it seems almost to have grown out of the rocks beneath. The thick walls provide such good insulation that air-conditioning is unnecessary. Solar panels provide hot water for the hotel and and the underfloor heating in the dining and bar area. Soon a biodigester will provide electricity and compost not only for the hotel but also for the village below. ... more   less
