We arrived home yesterday after what can only be described as a fake Glastonbury weekend! As being one of the only four tents on the site, we were allocated a pitch near to the entrance, in front of a large man made hill (great for blocking the wind). When we arrived the Friday night, we didn't realise how bad the...

Thank you for your review. The pitches were all repaired and reseeded at the end of last year, and did not feature any expanse of mud or soil, prior to your arrival - but it is inevitable that trampling around on wet grass even putting the tent up will result in mud. It is unfortunately very difficult to be aware...

Folks we have just come back from a few days staying with you, a short notice choice as we have to confess to not normally using commercially owned sites. On arrival a nice clear direction to the pitch, by two lovely ladies with big smiles. We weren't disappointed the setting in a disused quarry is spectacular and provided shelter from...

Thanks for your constructive observations. Grass is a problem because, despite re-seeding in autumn with special seed that germinates in cool weather, it only takes one person to drive over it whilst siting their unit, to completely trash it when its wet before the next person arrives. Thus a pitch can be fine on Friday when booked - and trashed...

Spotted the roadside sign for a café so stopped for afternoon tea. Really pleasant staff & good food and drink at reasonable cost - pot of tea, a cider, two slices of pecan pie for £9.85. Well recommended.

Glad you stopped by, you can now park for £2.20, go for a walk all day and you get your money back if you spend over £6. Best wishes.

This was my second visit to the site. A very well laid out site with plenty of facilities, clean and user friendly. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the bar and used the nearby Tissington Trail for a nice long bike ride. Although site is in a disused quarry we managed to get a great signal for the TV. Only...

Thank for your review, we do blacklist people who do not respond to polite requests to keep the noise down after 10.30 p.m. so I don't expect you will come across Kermit et al if you return.

Not a great place if your looking good for a quiet holiday or have young children. There was a very large teenage birthday party, very noisy going on till late at night. Reminded me of Haven type holiday resorts which we didn't expect. If you like haven type holiday you'll like it. If your looking good for a quiet family...

Thank you for your comments. I guess late at night is subjective, but the majority of the revelry occurred in the Ecospa during the afternoon, it did not include music at any time, and the noise curfew was enforced as usual. Any site that welcomes families is capable of accumulating a dozen 12 year old girls around the play area...

Called for lunch whilst driving past. Guests do not have to be staying on site. Smashing small Cafe, Dad said it was best omelette he'd ever had. Our coffee was brilliant, very good barista, all in all I recommend this place to campers and passing traffic. Lovely

Thank you for your kind words, Lavazza for their fine coffee, our chef for doing a good job - and you for calling in - hope to see you again soon. Best wishes.

A generally very nice place. The timber pods are very cosy, and have a woodburning stove that can be used for cooking. A shame they don't supply pots or pans, or tell you they don't. The previous occupants had kindly left half drunk bottles of coke, wine and milk, and the cleaning staff thoughtfully left them for us, along with...

My family stayed in a medium timber yurt for two nights. The yurt was spacious and once we got the fire going it was lovely and warm. However, it wasn't as clean as we hoped considering there's not much in the yurt to clean, there were lots of cobwebs and the mats and mattresses have seen better days. The yurts...

The location was ideal, for the walking and cycling holiday we were having, we stayed a week and spent 2 days cycling and walked the other days, we stayed in one of the bed and breakfast rooms, the room was very nice, and the breakfast was of very good quality and large enough to last all day, the only problem...

We booked in here with our D of E group. As it was so cold, I went in to a B & B room. The restaurant and cafe served excellent food. There was clearly a problem with the wet room en-suite in the room I was staying in as several guests had made comments in the book. However, the owners...
