If you are aware that the lodge was built in 1924 than you probably will enjoy the stay. It is really remarkable how the lodge was adapted to have some guest rooms with a minimum standard. Quiet area but in walking distance to town. Muffins for the breakfast are really tasteful but might be a little monotonous for a longer... More

We had a wonderful two night stay in this lodge in early June - especially enjoying the mountain fresh linens! Loved the fact that this property has been run by the same family for decades - and is part of the local history. My room had its own outside deck area - very private with a beautiful view of the... The B and B was run by Mariah who was the most gracious hostess getting up early to bake us muffins before our boat departure to hike crypt lake. She also gave my hubby milk for his cereal. The est is very clean and quaint with history tied to the prince of Wales hotel. With history comes smaller rooms and... More

We stayed a the Northland Lodge the night of July 1 2016. The first thing we need to point out is that this is NOT a "lodge" - this is a bed and breakfast. Not that this is a bad thing, it's just to clarify for people that may have been confused by the name. It's very easy to find... More

The Northland Lodge is located several blocks north of the town center and does not provide a view of the lake. You have to walk or drive to restaurants and shopping, but when were were there Evergreen Avenue was blocked at both ends. So, we had to wind around through the RV camping area to get to the lodge. The... More

Stayed twice in June, great rooms both times, very clean, crisp cotton sheets, very comfortable. Great views of the mountains, in a quiet location, backed by the forest, deer close by every day. Every morning fresh muffins warm from the oven with coffee /tea etc, a real treat

Northland Lodge was great! We were met by Mariah when we arrived and we were made to feel very welcome. The location was in walking distance to Cameron Waterfall (at most 50 m away). Older historical house...just beautiful. Fresh home cooked muffins for breakfast was also a highlight. Comfortable beds and very clean. Deer roaming in the front yard. We... More

Northland Lodge supplied a comfortable and homely atmosphere, in a peaceful location. It's an older building that has seen a few makeovers but the friendly and generous nature of the staff make up for this. Bear spray freely loaned!

If you're headed to Waterton, you'll want to book early enough to get to stay here. It's a historic home that's nicely furnished, warm and cozy. The service is friendly and helpful, and it's a good value. The trailheads to some of the best hikes are just a few blocks away, yet it's quite and a bit removed from the... More

The Northland Lodge is exactly what my sister and I want when we visit Waterton in the fall. It has all the comforts of home and feelings of contentment. The house itself brings such personality to a stay in beautiful Waterton. I love the different themed rooms and we have our favourite. The staff is wonderful and always a pleasure... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This historic lodge was built and designed in 1928 by Louis Hill of the Great Northern Railway, the famous builder of The Prince of Wales Hotel along with many of the lodges built in Glacier National Park. Our hillside hideaway is located in the quiet part of Waterton nestled against the mountain and is a 5 minute walk to anywhere in town. Open your window and listen to the sound of the waterfalls all night or hang out on the large deck and watch the deer come off the mountain. And while it was undoubtedly the largest home in the park in 1928, it is small by today's standards. What we lack in size we make up for in hospitality. In the mornings we offer coffee, tea, juice and hot muffins with our famous Saskatoon Berry jam. A sit and sip to visit with other guests and learn about all the adventures available to you in Waterton Lakes National Park. ... more   less
