A lovely couple - was only there for a night but they could not have been more attentive. A bed for the night was exactly what I needed and it was perfect. All very friendly and I joined another couple for breakfast, which included delicious home-made jam. Should I need to go to that area again I will definitely ask...

Of all the places I stayed at during my recent visit to England, to complete my walk along the SW Coast Path during the 2nd leg from Lizard Point to South Haven Point, Chiltern Lodge was arguably the best place I stayed. First of all I should start by saying I was unable to secure accommodation in Lulworth Cove, and...

A very pleasant couple but too many rules and not enough customer care. You are greeted with the first rule which is 'no shoes'. I don't have a problem with that but to be then offered slippers or socks to put on was over the top. The bedroom was cramped. No TV, very little in terms of tea making facilities...

It is not our policy to reply to reviews but let the reviews speak for themselves and our prospective clients’ consider accordingly. Our exception to this rule is where a review, or part of a review, misrepresents us in fact. We do have a ‘no outside footwear in the house’ rule. This is because a large percentage of our guests...

David and Ann are a very welcoming couple and want your stay to be enjoyed. We were offered a welcome tea or coffee on arrival and Ann cooks a nice dinner and it's worth paying the extra to have it, as you would be limited to pies and pasties at the local Inn, "The Square and Compass" which is utterly...

We finished the SWCP as this was our last night after 630 miles (plus diversions). David and Ann let us share a room with our son, as they put a spare camp bed in place of the armchair. They kindly agreed to us staying at very short notice and cooked us a great supper and understood we were hungry walkers....

We were gently admonished for arriving late after a good few pints in the square and compass. ( avoid the pasties there). However, by breakfast, Dave had recovered and was friendly and informative and warm. This is a no frills establishment, no room TV and a Kneeling in the bath shower head device. Breakfast was ok. I would go back....

My wife, mother-in-law, brother-in-law and I stayed here for a couple of days commencing Boxing Day. Ann was very helpful with taking the booking, which was pretty last minute (our comms with other establishments had left a lot to be desired), the accommodation was excellent for the price, and the breakfast delicious and plentiful. David has, as a photographer, seen...

It's about this time of the year that I get frazzled with work and reminisce the summer vacation. What springs to mind was the well spent weekend exploring the coast of Dorset and getting to spend time at a lovely and very hospitable B&B in a small town called Swanage. Anne and David the owners of the B&B were very...

I was pleased to find this lovely B&B when I attended a local event in September. As a solo traveller I always feel I am being penalised having to pay a considerable amount of single supplement wherever I stay. This B&B did me justice! While most of the B&B's in the area charge on average 50-60 pounds when I enquired,Chiltern...

We were walking the South West Coast Path and there was only this option - we were not disappointed. David and Ann were excellent hosts and we had some very enjoyable and interesting conversations with them. The meal (vegetarian) was very good and the portion size was ample. Given that the pub only serves pasties and there is only a...
