Me and my partner booked 2 nights in the San Pedro lodge. They picked us up at our hostal in Iquitos by mototaxi, then we went to the lodge sailing 2 different rivers and because of the season we walked through the forest for about 30 min. The cabin had river view and it was very nice and clean. The... More

In spite of being close to the city, you can feel in the middle of the jungle and trully go into the rain forest by taking a 3 hour hike with a guide. Nothing fancy but confortable. Travel by mototaxi, cross the river by boat and hike to reach the place, in about an hour. Food is really good, and... More

Booked a private cabin with my boyfriend on short notice, after our transportation was delayed and we missed a 3 day tour of the Amazon we had booked originally. We were so thankful we did, we could not have asked for more for our stay here and had a very relaxing few days. The cabin was stunning on the river... More

The setting of this lodge is wonderful as can be seen from the photos. Another bonus is there are a lot less mosquitos here than at other places in the Amazon - much more comfortable! We did two tours from the lodge, they were good but quite expensive. The three day Yarapa River Tour is amazing though and completely worth... More

1. The lodge It is stunning in San Pedro - just beautiful. We had the private bungalow by the river and I loved the view. The atmosphere is great! I loved swimming in the river (clean water and no dangerous / scary animals), canoeing, hanging out in the hammock and walk around San Pedro village. A cold beer and a... More

We had a very memorable stay at this lodge recently. We stayed for three days. During the days, we went for trips conducted by the lodge - river expedition on Nanay and Amazon rivers, trip to Pilpintuwasi butterfly farm, trip to meet people from the native Bora community, and walk around the markets in Iquitos. In the evenings, there wasn't... More

The title is the absolute truth. I have traveled all over the world, and this place is my absolute favorite. The experience is like no other. The excursions are amazing. The amount of stars you can see is indescribable. The homemade food is incredible. If you want a real jungle experience, and aren't afraid of cold water, then do this.... More

If you are looking to really get in touch with the essence of the jungle, this is a great place to do it. The lodge is located in a small rural community up the river from Iquitos, and most of the people who work and help out at the lodge are from the community. The staff and the volunteers are... More

We left San Pedro Lodge with disappointment. The whole idea of the lodge is great: rustic, inexpensive and really close to nature but what they accomplish is far from what they want this to be. The staff was OK, kind and at your service but really unengaged. The lodge was really dirty, the bathrooms more then basic, with not even... More

I was standing in front of my hotel of last night, at half past ten, when a man approached me with a big smile and asked: “Eres señorita Geerts?”. I smiled back at him, shook his hand, and went into his motokar (a kind of motorcycle with three wheels, where the two person’s backseat is covered with a plastic roof).... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
San Pedro Lodge is a rustic lodge located at the end of a small river village inside the Amazon rain forest. The lodge is cozy and offers personalized service, providing accommodation for only 12 people at a time. All beds are equipped with a mosquito net, and you'll find a nicely equipped bathroom and shower in each bungalow. While at the lodge, enjoy leisurely visits to the local village, spot and listen to animals all around, have an afternoon swim in the river, relax in a hammock or join us on the many day trips that we offer. We are happy to offer free shuttle service from the airport/hotel to the lodge. The ride takes about 1 hour from the airport or 1 1/2 hours from Iquitos city center and is an adventurous route begun by motokar and finished by boat. We serve 3 delicious meals per day. Vegetarian meal is available upon request. The meals are all prepared with fresh ingredients and are made from scratch by our excellent chef Clari. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or any other dietary restrictions, so that we can take them into account. When you have arrived and settled in at the San Pedro Lodge, you can take a walk in the little town; San Pedro. The village is located just off the Nanay River, on a beautiful oxbow lake, or 'cocha'. San Pedro is a typical, quiet river town, with just 300 inhabitants, who grow their own food and make a living fishing and selling some of their fruits and vegetables at the market in Belen. There is no electricity yet. People here are content to provide a simple lifestyle for their families, living in their thatched-roofed wooden houses, fishing, hunting, and growing their crops. They enjoy sharing a few beers and a whole lot of laughs. The young play football or volleyball, while the older generation enjoys reminiscing, or sharing the occasional gossip. You are welcome to join any time! The people are friendly, very hospitable and curious to find out more about you. Learn about their history, their way of life, and join in a game of football, and you will make new friends for life. ... more   less
