We're just back from a weekend stay at The Old Vicarage and were really delighted with every aspect of this B&B. On arrival, we were greeted like long lost friends and offered tea, coffee and cake. Our room and en-suite were spotlessly clean and included a television and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was delicious and there was a good selection...

We have just stayed at The Old Vicarage as part of a walking holiday. It is faultless. The hospitality of the hosts, the beautiful bedrooms, the tea and cake on arrival, and the breakfast could not be better. I think we have found the perfect b&b.

Spent one night in The Old Vicarage and wish we could have stayed longer. The house is magnificent with the biggest bedrooms I've ever seen. The furniture, especially the bed was fantastic and overall was the most comfortable place I have ever stayed in. Ann and Bill were tremendous, helpful and very welcoming. Many of our party were at the...

Stayed over Easter weekend walking with a group of friends staying here and at the Black Swan. Very warm welcome from Bill and Ann with tea and home made cakes on arrival, as well as each day after our walks, served in a comfortable guest lounge complete with grand piano! Beautiful dual aspect bedroom with tasteful decor, plenty of space...

I stayed at the Old Vicarage whilst the rest of my party of 15 stayed down the road in the Black Swan. I'm so pleased I did - my room was gorgeous, impeccably clean, practically silent and very comfortable. Ann and Bill couldn't have been more welcoming from the moment I arrived, topped off with two superb breakfasts (very important...

Arrived after the long Shap to Kirkby section of the C2C, and were greeted with cakes and tea - fantastic! Bill and Ann are most welcoming, the house is beautiful. We had a lovely room with a bath which eased away our aches and pains. Ann had booked us into the pub just down the road from them and we...

Haven't stayed at a B&B for years. What a pleasant experience. Ann and Bill are so welcoming. You couldn't want for more. Lovely cakes on offer as well as tea and coffee. The breakfast is as much or as little as you want. Lots of books to read about the area and plan your day. Room very clean and lovely...

You are in very good hands with Bill and Ann, We stayed for one night with no problems. The residence couldn't be closer to a pub for evening meals. We were just about to get into the car when my son laughed and said ''don't bother with the car dad'' the pub was 3 doors down the road. I have...

Our stay, albeit just the one night bed and breakfast, was excellent. Ann and Bill made us feel very welcome and on arrival after a look around and to look at our room, we sat with a welcoming pot of tea and cakes for two. The room and bathroom were beautiful and spotless. We booked in at the Black Swan...

We had planned to stay in Kirkby Lonsdale but are very glad we didn't and found the Old Vicarage instead. We stayed 2 nights. The welcome was very warm and friendly and it was the only B&B we have every visited with a grand piano. Very peaceful location with red squirrels in the garden. Bill and Ann were very hospitable...
