Went for lunch on Mothers Day 4 adults, they sat us in the kids zone play for under 5. Whilst we sat in the play zone area having dinner with kids playing hide and seek and generally running and playing under the tables, the parents sat in the main restaurant area having a lovely dinner in peace without any interest...

What can I say! Food in pub was ok but we were over charged. The room we had was filthy. We raised the issues with the Manager who whilst said sorry didn't offer any compensation or refund on what I think was a very expensive room. A delivery arrived just after 6am and the noise was horrendous with trollies being...

Thank you for your feedback. I spoke to you on the day and I did visit the room and discussed your concerns and complaints with the housekeeper on duty. In relation to the cleanliness I have made sure the housekeepers are more aware. Also all of our rooms are due to be refurbished In April so other concerns about the...

A group of 8 of us stayed over the weekend. The staff were great, pub was very nice and food was reasonable. The rooms were spacious, but are in desperate need of an update. Moldy bath, peeling paint and a worn out bed. With a little bit of money spent the rooms would match the quality of the pub. Was...

A busy pub and not surprising given its position between Chatsworth and Bakewell with Caudwells Mill just on its doorstep. Nicely set out inside and plenty of choice of average pub food ( a lot of cheat cuisine.) and at very reasonable prices which will attract visitors to the area. - but you get what you pay for - mains...

We stayed here last weekend. On the whole a lovely place to stay. The meals were fantastic as were the staff helpful. The campsite was very pretty and enough for us in our camper. We didn't use the shower facilities although we had a key as due to the bad rain they were constantly muddy. The hard standing is adequate...

I visit Grouse and Claret very often. I have seen busy days and quiet ones too. Service is always very efficient and friendly. My last visit was on Sunday. I had the beef and my partner had the chicken, both meals were delicious with nice big Yorkshire pudding. When you in the area this is definitely a place worth a...

I left a poor review for this place a few months ago, we were in the area at the weekend and thought we'd give it another go, the beer is really well kept, the food had improved and I would now say it was acceptable for a big pub chain. The thing letting this place down is the service, whilst...

I really wanted to like this caravan site. It's situated behind the Grouse and Claret pub/hotel in the village of Rowsley just down the road from Bakewell in one direction and Matlock in the other. There is also the Peak Village Outlet shopping centre adjacent. We stayed in our motorhome as the site is only a short drive away from...
