this was a substitute for our 1st choice which wasn't available. Having said that was clean comfortable and quiet. A bit more upmarket than some of the other Marston Houses. Staff were on the whole young but very welcoming and did a good job, A good base for exploring Bakewell, Chatsworth and surrounding Peak district.

Saturday night and the bar closed at 11pm even to staying guests. Our room only had a small electric heater which was inadequate, made our stay a very long cold Saturday night, would never stay here again.

We had an afternoon meal. My husband had fish and chips which was very nice. Lovely crispy batter on the fish. I had potato and cauliflower yellow curry. The curry was lovely and spicy. The only thing wrong was the vegetables had just been added to the sauce and not cooked in it, so they didn't have the lovely flavours... More

Thank you for your feedback i am glad your visit was a good one. In regards the curry this item is being taken off the menu and replaced with a new Korean Curry and now the weather is getting chilly we have adjusted the heating and started lighting the open fire. Stayed at this hotel to attend a wedding nearby. The room was large and bed comfortable. the bathroom was large with plenty of hot water. The hotel was very clean and everyone was friendly. The cost of bed and breakfast was high but i suppose it was the area. There was not much choice for breakfast but it was ok.... More

Been to this place today for a family lunch, with family we don't see often, so this was special, this menu pictured here says, and I quote! Freshly cooked meats available for the Sunday lunch!, my wife and I had what we thought was freshly cooked beef but when it arrived it was nothing more than packet beef! Surrounded by... More

although they have done the restaurant out well very disappointed with the light bite meal . I appreciate it would be a smaller meal but at nearly £6.50 for fish &chips one expects it to be bigger than a largish fish finger.

The room was very good value for money. The staff in the restaurant were excellent couldn't have been better. Very hard working . Nothing to much trouble. The manager was the same. We would have liked to say longer and will definitely revisit, the food was very good.
