Detailed Reviews
Well Peeps,
It all started with a trip to Kembla Grange races for our Punters Club so we decided to make a weekend of it and stay Friday / Saturday at the Dandaloo.
The Hotel has a motel at the back of it. The locals refer to it as “THE DANDY”
Let me tell you right now just how great a weekend we all had. The motel wasn’t 5 star but the rooms were very clean, a continental brekky was thrown in and the staff were fantastic. All this for a modest 160 bucks a night. Plenty of onsite parking as well.
Location wise you couldn’t have found better as it was about 2 clicks away from the racetrack and a quick cab ride away.
There was also a small shopping centre just behind the motel with a Foodworks, Newsagent, laundry, Chinese Restaurant and a few other shops.
Now I’m going to tell you about the best part. The actual pub itself served the best beer I’ve tasted in a long time and at around 6 bucks a schooner, plenty of them were consumed let me tell you.
But that’s not the best part, the best part is that the owners of the Pub really have a connection with the locals and offer meals you can’t jump over at good old fashioned prices. I think the dearest meal on the menu was 14 bucks.
They even have a mixed grill on the menu with everything on there for a ridiculous price, ( and I mean an absolutely ridiculously cheap price). No bloody wonder the joints absolutely chockers every day and night. And did I mention how good the beer was, they even have Happy Hour.
So peeps, the next time you want to head off down the coast for the Kembla races or even a Golf Trip ( the golf course is right next to the racetrack ), do yourselves a huge favour, stay a few days at the Dandy, you’ll be so glad you did.
