We visited this guest house on our 3 week tour of the UK. There was improvement work going on outside but our room inside was lovely, clean and well furbished. The room was quite small but sufficient for a couple with as much luggage as we had! The ensuite bathroom was also clean and nice. Breakfast was a lovely and...

I nearly didn't go inside as, as mentioned by others, the outside is so unappealing. I never got to meet anybody at all - key was left in an envelope sellotaped to the front door. Room was OK - bed was clean but the reason for the poor rating is: Dirty - skirting board was filthy and there was an...

I needed to spend just one (not too expensive) night near or in Cambridge. I found Alder Lodge on line - conveniently near the A14. It was VERY reasonably priced - and not surprisingly full! It was a bit off-putting on arrival as they are building an extension at the front so (not unexpectedly) it looked like a building site....

We booked a day stay at this lodge on 9 June 15.No doubt the cleaniness of this lodge is good. But the bed quality are so poor sort like more than ten years old bed. Both of us wake up with body aches the next day.We booked the room as deluxe bed but in fact it was two small single beds which...

Small family run business, we arrived mid afternoon on our motorbike, owners left a note with our keys, room was so clean and warm, value for money, bus stop outside approx 20 mins to city centre, approx 8.00 return and runs late. So wouls recommend this lovely, clean, warm, friendly B & B.

We stayed for 2 nights in April. The owners were out when we arrived so the key was left for us in an envelope on the door. The guest house is approx. 2.5 miles out of the centre of Cambridge, in a residential area. We walked into the city each day, although there were buses. The room and bathroom could...

We stayed here last night whilst we were down visiting the sites of Cambridge. Its a very easy to find lodge, doesn't look like much on the outside - but don't let that fool you. Very clean and comfortable. The room was modern and big with a little shower room en-suite. It was perfect for our 1-night stay and affordable...

My room came with the bathroom and everything was very clean and neat. Quality of sleep was excellent, almost didn't want to get out of bed! Wifi is stable and fast. The water pressure in the shower could have been stronger but I could live with that. It is right opposite a bus stop that can take you into the...

Just as the title describes and how a guest house should be - Clean, Comfortable, Basic, & Brilliant Breakfast! Situated in a great spot, Alder Lodge has space for off road parking with a bus stop straight opposite to get to the city center (about 25 mins travel). The hubby and I stayed last weekend in room 4. This was...

First time to Cambridge and needed affordable accommodation with parking. Alder lodge is on no. 1 bus route so frequent buses into town if the walk is too far. Room was very nice, clean and good wifi. Comfy bed and the breakfast was excellent, cheese on toast was an option! Highly recommend it and a fraction of the cost of...
