The King's Head is a village pub with rooms in the converted outbuildings in the car park. My wife and I stayed 2 nights on our first visit to Newmarket and got exactly what we expected for circa £65 a night with breakfast.
Finding reasonable priced accommodation in this area is difficult, but I can't believe how dirty the room was. Looking at the bathroom photographs that have been posted from someone else's review says it all.
The bedroom carpet should have been chucked out 10 years ago....More
The King's Head provided a simple and inexpensive stop-over on my route south. It is what it is - a village pub with rooms - nothing fancy, nor does it pretend to be. Very welcoming and friendly proprieters, real beers at the bar, decent breakfast...More
Please, please don't book this accommodation! £63 per night was over the top, when they're advertised outside on the board ... from £50 per night. Considering they are 10% cheaper than Travelodge, they are 100% behind on standards. These were the only rooms we could...More
I stay at the Kings Head when I,m in town on business. The rooms are excellent value for money. The landlady and staff are friendly accommodating and make one feel welcome. The Pub has BT sport and is a traditional atmospheric English pub.
