Very reasonably priced hotel just minutes out of the centre of chester with parking. Didn't expect too much for the price we paid but we were very pleasantly surprised. Very clean room and communal areas, comfy beds, lovely bar area and a beautiful pool and spa area. The food at breakfast was great. Above all the staff were excellent. So helpful and very smiley 😊 We will absolutely book again.

We keep coming back to The Mill, it's fantastic. Food and staff were very good. There's plenty of parking, which was £7. We visited on a Saturday / Sunday. Busy hotel with a lovely atmosphere and vibe. Bar area is lovely and lots of TVs with sport on. We used the swimming pool, which was lovely. Towels are provided. Womens changing rooms required £1 and the mens you are given a key. We arrived around 11am on the day of check in and were able to use the pool straight away. You can collect your room key from 3pm. Beds very comfortable and adequate facilities available in the room. We had a view of the canal from the 4th floor. Very close to the city centre. We ate out and went for drinks in the evening. You are spoilt for choice in Chester. We'll be visiting this hotel again and again.

Beautiful hotel found in the heart of Chester. Close to the attractions and amenities. Excellent food, lovely bar with great TVs for the footy. Staff so pleasant, helpful and polite, especially the Scouse lad doing front of house for breakfast on 15/03/24, so friendly to everyone. Spa was fantastic. Really enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Was on a Thursday, so not toooo busy. On the down side, room 205 was very small and proved awkward to navigate, especially with my walking stick and mobility problems. Nevertheless, would definitely go back but would insist on a bigger room

We'd been gifted a night away in Chester as a birthday present so were looking forward to getting away from the stresses of normal life for a couple of days. We weren't disappointed either. As we aren't far from Chester we decided to get the train there so we could have a few tipples and not worry about the following morning. The hotel is less than a ten minute walk away from the station which was a bonus. On arriving and walking into the entrance you get the feeling that the place is well looked after and they want you to feel welcome when you walk in and make your way towards the reception desk. There's a sense of calm in the hotel that you don't find a lot of these days when you walk into them. Once we had checked in we made our way to the room and again on going inside we were not disappointed. The room was well presented, clean and had everything you'd need for a night away from home. There was even a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us. (Arranged by the person that had booked it for us.) We've unpacked and decided before going out in Chester city centre we'd 'have one' in the hotel bar. Again this was well presented, clean and welcoming with two rooms with enough tables for everyone to sit around. You could pick from bar stools or lower chairs as there was a mixture of them. Staff at the bar were polite and well presented in their hotel uniform. A pint of Peroni and a glass of wine was £8.90 which was a pleasant surprise as we were expecting 'hotel' prices which we all know can be a lot higher. I know I said that we'd planned a night out in Chester and having had many of those before over the years we decided to stay in the hotel bar instead. The place was so chilled, we felt we didn't need to go anywhere and just spent our night there. No, we are not boring we'd just decided to relax instead of partying that night. As the night came to an end for us we decided to order food in and the reception were happy to keep an eye out for us. Nice to see that instead of feeling you need to eat from the hotel bar menu or the snacks behind the bar. We took the food back to the room when it arrived and watch a bit of tv as the kebabs were devoured! The following morning we had picked our time slot for breakfast and as we arrived staff were there to greet us, show us to the table and asked us how our night had been and what we had planned for the day. Good customer service. It was a buffet style breakfast where you went and helped yourself. This was a bonus because it meant I could add extra bacon and sausages and even make an extra trip for a bit more when I'd finished my first plate. We really enjoyed our time there and if you ever find yourself looking to stay over in Chester then you should seriously consider picking the Mill Hotel. We will!

The staff are amazing and nothing is to much problem. The rooms are clean but a little dated. The food is brilliant but edible. I enjoyed my stay. Thanks you guys. I would recommend this as a place to stop whilst in Chester and near enough to the city centre. The spa was also very good.

I booked earlier in the year, direct with the hotel, and got 2 nights for the price on one. Due to this, I went for the canal view deluxe room including free parking for direct bookings. On arrival, the welcome was good and efficiently done. My wife and I went to the room on the 5th floor (in a lift). The room was large, and had a small (slightly worn) sofa for TV watching. The TV was great, had the usual channels plus NetFlix, YouTube, etc. There is an outside balcony area, which when the weather was good would be a nice place to sit. We did note that the room was really warm, even on a chilly March day with the radiator off and this warmth was evident for our full stay - a little too warm for us and the only way to cool the room was to open the balcony door. One 'large' negative was that the bed, although described as a King Size on the booking, was not a King Size; it was a standard double. Fairly comfortable not the greatest with a fair bit of 'roll together'. Disappointed about this. I did let the receptionist know on departure. The bedroom and the bathroom were clean. What could have been provided though was somewhere to hang towels especially as there was a sign about recycling your towels by using the rail provided but no rail was provided. The bath was a jacuzzi bath but we did not test this, only the shower, which was a little difficult to get in and out of due to the high bath side. The breakfast was fine, but a little limited. The hot food is buffet style and regularly refreshed. The croissant was really quite nice. The coffee served was not very nice unfortunately. The spa and pool area is very good. The pool is definitely the largest indoor hotel pool I have used. There is a sauna and a steam room that my wife used (I do not like this type of thing :) ) plus a very bubbly jacuzzi. All in all a decent stay with some unfortunate misrepresentation on the size of the bed.

Dear NeilJehane_23, Thank you for taking time to review your recent stay. We are grateful that you have drawn our attention to both the positives and negatives of your stay at the MILL. It is absolutely vital for us to understand where we can improve, and I will pass details of your experience on to our relevant teams. Thank you for your comments regarding the bed within your room. Our Canal Side Deluxe Rooms all have king-size beds, which may seem smaller, should you be expecting a super-king bed. I wish to apologise for any aspect of your stay that fell short of your expectations and was not up to our usual high standards. Kind Regards, Mill,

Avoid this hotel if possible. Staff do not communicate with each other causing the customer upset and disappointment. I had to cancel a booking I made for my husband and I for our 10th wedding anniversary. We wanted to upgrade our package to include a Spa evening. I rang reception who passed me on to the Spa, when I asked about the meal included in the spa package the lady who answered the phone said that she had no idea I would have to ring back to the reception, I asked if she could connect me back to the reception she replied " I cannot do that on this phone " and advised me to ring back the hotel, then she hung up. I took her advice and rang the hotel back but it was to advise that if this is the type of service they offer, I'm not interested. I was disappointed as this is the hotel we held our wedding reception in 10 years ago and was looking forward to going back. Obviously things have changed, not for the better. Staff on both, hotel and spa receptions need an upgrade on their customer service training, concentrating on phone call related queries. Very disappointed but lucky for us there are more accommodating hotels in the area I can look into at this late time. Chester is a beautiful City, I'm not going to let this hotel ruin our 10th wedding anniversary . The incident happened on the 4/4/24 early afternoon . The hotel should know who the staff members were.

Dear Margaret F, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent contact with The Hotel. We are sorry to read that you were dissatisfied with the customer service you received from our team members here at The Mill. We do apologise for any upset that has been caused. I'm not able to comment on the conversation that you had with our Health Club staff, but can confirm that the lady you spoke to on our main reception desk was extremely polite and helpful towards you, and did return your phone call, as promised, once she had found out the menu information you required. She did leave a voice mail, and also emailed you too. We are sorry to read that we are unable to help you further with this. Kind regards Reception

Location is great with free parking when you book direct. Staff were very friendly and helpful when we had an issue with our room. Bed was comfy, a few noisy guests but nothing too extreme. Breakfast was hot and tasty. We will definitely return and hopefully use the pool next time......

My one-night stay at The Mill Hotel was a delightful experience from start to finish. Our room with a view of the lake was spacious, with an exceptionally comfortable mattress, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep in this quiet and serene hotel. The two ladies at the reception were not only polite but went above and beyond in their kindness. They were more than happy to assist with anything, even helping us book a taxi. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a diverse range of hot and cold options, along with tea, coffee, and various juices. The attention to detail made for a satisfying morning meal. The spa, though slightly busy on the weekend, was a haven of relaxation. We were provided with towels, robes, and slippers, enhancing the overall experience. Despite the weekend rush, the staff managed the situation well. The commitment and friendliness of the entire staff make me eager to return. The Mill Hotel is truly a gem, and I look forward to my next stay.
