While holidaying in St Buryan my wife and I thought we would pop down the road to Mousehole for our evening meal, looking around we saw that the Ship Inn was fairly full so logically the food here must be good WRONG. After perusing the menu we both decided on the hummus for our starter, obviously they had not been...

We stayed a Friday night in May. We had booked a superior double room through Expedia and had chosen The Ship Inn because it was directly on the harbour front. It is also possible to book directly through the Inn's own website. Mousehole is a quaint little seaside harbour with narrow streets and was like taking a step back in...

As usual when the Christmas lights are on Mousehole was absolutely heaving, as was the Ship Inn. However, it was nice to see that lots of local people who we know were eating (and enjoying themselves) there. We had gone with friends to see the lights (for the umpteenth year running, but there is always something new) and had booked...

Visited the lovely Mousehole today and decided to pop in for lunch. Ordered the ploughmans. It was not what I expected, bread was dry, the egg was a pickled egg, really do not like pickled eggs, such a shame they cannot just do an ordinary boiled egg, not everyone likes them pickled. Staff apologetic and did gIve a refund

Resturant looks good but same food served in pub and restaurant. The resturant is not dog friendly, the pub says it is - but tolerated. Fish and chips were OK, tonight's steak medium rare was good, but cold plates, cold mushrooms and cold chips, so overall very poor. cheeseburger was good and chips warm, no-one came back to check if...

Our friends of 60+ years and my husband and I had planned this day out for ages, a train ride from Saltash to Penzance and then a bus to Mousehole. We decided to have our lunch at the Ship Inn in this lovely quaint fishing village. We have visited before and can guarantee and recommend the fish of the day,...

Stayed in Mousehole for a week and went to the pub a few times for either a couple of pints or dinner. It's a lovely, friendly, traditional pub. The food was good, although they should stick to good pub grub, rather than trying to 'be' anything else.

We had a great three night stay at the Ship when visiting Cornwall for our friends wedding in February. The staff are all friendly and welcoming (including cleaning staff) and couldn't do enough for us during our visit. Room was spotless, bed super comfortable, we had lovely views from our room (top floor) The only negative was the tiny bathroom...

Sadly the food wasn't quite up to scratch for us, which was a shame as the location was lovely and the staff were nice and friendly. Ordered the halloumi burger and found the mushrooms and peppers cold/warmed up. We all agreed that the chips were a let down and the coleslaw tasted like Morrisons basic range (not homemade). I'm not...

Good pub, great position overlooking the harbour, nice food and good beer from St Austell Brewery - we popped in a few times during our stay, always welcoming and friendly. Would definitely go back and visit!
