I was very disappointed with the hotels. Maybe my expectations were too high but on my 3 week vacation including stays at 2 hotels in London this was the most expensive hotel. The views from the balcony were dismal by day, and at night the flood lights on the hotel were blinding making it impossible to sit on the balcony (which I paid extra for). I asked for a different room but was told the hotel was full to capacity. If that were true I don’t know where all the guests were hiding because I barely saw any. Breakfast was good. My evening meal was good although we had difficulty getting a reservation. The whole time we were in the dining room there were only 3 other tables occupied. I think there were several problems but mainly they were very short on staff (isn’t everywhere now) and Newquay has become shabby not the go to place for people who can afford this hotel’s prices. Newquay’s best years are behind it.

Really liked this hotel.staff where lovely.Friendly & efficient. Happy to help.rooms where spotless, pretty much everything we needed. A small fridge would of been handy..Apart from that, can't fault it..Breakfast was spot on, plenty of options. Cooked to a high standard..I would definitely recommend it and stay again!

We recently held a 100th birthday party for my mother at the Atlantic for which we booked one of the function rooms and a three course meal. I cannot express how well the hotel did. Nina, a member of the Events Team was approachable, flexible and a constant source of good advice. The food was excellent and plentiful, the meals ones of the best we've ever had, and the waiting staff very pleasant and helpful. The venue had beautiful views and the room was set out perfectly to meet our requirements. Staff were always approachable and helpful both before, during and after the event and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful throughout. Individual requests, including those of young children (pizzas which weren't on the menu) and 100 year olds (sherry which wasn't behind the bar), were catered for and everyone had a great time thanks to the organisation and service provided. Should I need to organise a similar function in the future I would not hesitate to return to the Atlantic hotel.

Fantastically situated hotel. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. However, the whole hotel is a tad tired. Fixtures and fittings are dated and very well worn. The pool could do with re tiling. The whole hotel could do with a good thorough deep clean. Cleanliness was basic , bathrooms need re fitting as was dated and had a small amount of mould in between the tiles. Old shower system but lovely views from all the windows. Beds comfortable but carpets need an update too.

I booked a 1 night bank holiday stay at this hotel through a well known booking website. A few minutes later I received a phone call from the hotel saying they did not offer one night breaks and not at the advertised price. I explained I had a confirmation email but they said that was from the booking agency, not them. Reluctantly I accepted what they said and tried (unsuccessfully) to look for alternative accommodation. Shortly after I received an email saying the booking had been cancelled. I put this behind me until I started receiving emails saying the booking had been cancelled as my credit card was invalid. This was NOT TRUE. I complained to both the booking agent and the hotel. In all my dealings with the hotel staff and manager they were very abrupt. Whilst they admitted that saying my card was invalid was a mistake on their part the manager said they had to do that as I had not cancelled the booking after agreeing to do so. Nobody ever asked me to cancel, so another false claim. Eventually, after I repeatedly complained to the booking agent they offered to pay half of any extra costs for booking an alternative hotel but as I had been unable to find one this was useless. Overall false advertising, false claims for cancellation and rude staff.

My experience at the Atlantic hotel was nothing short of amazing. I came down for a wedding at the hotel over the weekend. The views were absolutely stunning, (the weather being good made it 100x better) the whole day itself couldn't have gone better. The breakfast was great, plenty to choose from with the continental & full English. Parking was fine, managed to leave car there over the two days we stayed for with no additional cost. The majority of the staff were very polite and welcoming and even gave us a call to the room to see if everything was all good, which I thought was a nice touch. I missed 1 rating off for the below reasons: The room was very standard for the price, (£330 a night and that's with 10% off) had no A.C and was unbelievably warm every day we was there. Also, on the Saturday they had an older lady (I say this as she was the older of the two) working the bar who was extremely rude to many people throughout the day and night. I spoke with a few people throughout the day who mentioned it and thought it was very unprofessional in that environment at a big event such as the wedding it was at. However, despite these very minor things, the Atlantic as a venue to stay and for a wedding is brilliant. If you love Newquay and want to witness breathtaking views of the place, the Atlantic should be at the top of your hotel bucket list to stay!

Just come back from a stay here with my husband and baby. The hotel is grand and wows as soon as you walk in. The view from the room was amazing, the room itself was large but lacked the quality furnishings I would expect from a hotel at this price. The staff were all good but a special thank you goes out it to the Irish lady at breakfast, she just brightened up the place with her chat and laugh, and took our crying baby in her stride and made us so at ease. Thank you so much we look forward to coming back.

When we booked, it was on the agreement that they had disabled parking that could be reserved. As soon as we arrived, we were told that the parking was not arranged and couldn't be guaranteed or normally reserved. Although the staff were very friendly and helpful, we had constant issues with this throughout our stay. The servicing of the rooms was generally poor and we had to make a number of complaints. Food and drinks prices are astronomical. There were two weddings during our stay, which kept us awake until after they finished at midnight. The pools were disappointing and got colder as the stay went on. The lighting in the room was constantly flickering with the light switches situated behind the bed head. We found the hotel had no atmosphere and was just very blingy. We will not be going back
