The Claremont, despite its name, is really a good standard B & B as it offers no meal beyond breakfast. What makes it an idea place to stay, if remaining for any length of time in Polperro, is its situation. The Claremont is half way...More

Many thanks for your review and we very much appreciate, both the positive and negative comments. The private hotel car park for guests is indeed a great advantage for those that stay at the hotel and a saving of at least £8.50 per day not...More
We stayed here for one night as our usual choice was booked up until the following day. We didn't know what to expect, nor had we really thought about it to be honest but I kid you not, I was so close to tears when...More

You describe your review as "brutal" but it would be better described as "fiction" You say you stayed at our hotel in May 13 but it took you one year to write the review. Why? If things were as bad as you say surely you...More

Hi there, the front of the hotel looks across the main narrow street that leads down to the harbour and across from the car park. This street is not busy at night as Polperro becomes much quieter as the evening progresses as all the daytrippers leave and only those staying in the village are left. The view is of the opposite site of the coombe which is made up of houses and gardens rising up the valley side. There is no view of the sea from The Claremont as this is further down the road. Our room was No 7 which had twin beds, en suite facilities and was clean and fresh. Whilst there, have a meal in the Blue Peter pub and if possible take the bus to Polruan and the ferry to Fowey. Enjoy the Cornish hospitality.
