Port Isaac has become very pricey due to a certain TV programme and limited accommodation. The Slipway is very nice but definitely overpriced. Our room had a (small) balcony, which just about had a view of the harbour, partially obscured by the tented eating area below. There was a tiny gap between the bed and the wall. However, staff were lovely and the bed really comfortable, plus the breakfast good. The main criticism is that we had to check in between 4 and 6 or we would forfeit the room and the £120 cost. This is nothing short of outrageous. It's a hotel with a bar and restaurant so there would always be somebody available to give guests a key. I have no idea why they have this policy - luckily we arrived in time, but as we were walking from Boscastle it did make us anxious. This needs to change.

Right down on the waterfront. Our room had a balcony and faced the harbor. Beds were comfortable. The layout is a bit quirky but what do you expect for a building hundreds of years old. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. Overall agreat stay. Pkus we, completely by chance, stumbled into the middle of a scene shoot for Doc Martin. My wife got a selfie with Martin Clunes and over the moon!

A great location, a nice room (although a little small, but to be expected in an old building) and friendly staff, however, our experience was undone by some silly oversights/errors. Basically, it was all a little shambolic. When we arrived they were taking food orders, but 30 minutes later the staff were apologising to people as the kitchen seemed to be closed (unknown to the front of house staff apparently). We then discovered there was no hot water in the rooms, someone claiming the kitchen had been using it (odd when the kitchen was clearly closed) and they had forgotten to switch the second tank on (so we had cold showers) and thirdly the really nice breakfast was spoiled a little as the mixed berries hadn’t been de frosted! Maybe we stayed on an “off day”, maybe they were short of staff, but oh dear, it was a bit disappointing.

This a write as I found it and I am still cross. It looks nice and other diners food looked good. So we were seated at a table by the covered entrance. Given menus ordered a coffee and a cider. As others had left we moved table to one by the heaters telling the lady cleaning the tables the coffee arrived no cider it arrived 15 minutes later the waiter came by and took the order from our original table ,I asked him if we could order, he said he would be back in a minute, but he wasn't then later again he took an order from another table who had just entered. We'll that's enough thanks and while paying for our drinks expressed my disappointment and that the service was poor. Oh and don't take the seat on the right right inside the entrance as the lady who had my seat had a very unfortunate experience from seagull. Won't be going back .

What a lovely stay. Great location right down at the harbor. Spent extra dollars to get the extra sitting room and it was money well spent. Breakfast was great, dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Lots of steps and hills but if you can manage that, you should stay here.
