Great choices on the menu with (as you would expect in Cornwall) lots of lovely fresh fish. Very tasty puddings too. Service was fast and efficient. Friendly hardworking staff. Lovely little private 'booths' to sit in and the walls are decorated with some very nice art work that can be purchased - some paintings very reasonable others more expensive but...

We visit every year and stop in the look-out. We can not rate this place highly enough, the room is amazing comfy bed with views of the harbour, a newly fitted bathroom and breakfast brought to your room! Just perfect! The atmosphere in the bar downstairs is always welcoming and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Have already booked...

My only way of expressing what we experienced is to post the letter we sent to them... Dear All at the Sloop, We just wanted to say that we had one of the best times in the UK we have ever had. Although we only stayed one night you looked after us brilliantly! The room was so spacious, clean and...

We popped in for our usual tradition of a relaxing drink sitting outside this well established St. Ives watering hole and were not disappointed. The bar staff were very jolly and accomodating, (unlike a foreign gentleman who had served us in previous months!) The selection of drinks was very good considering it was February. I opted for the in house...

A wonderful building, we came in here on our first night and got very merry, listened to some great live music and danced. Beer selection was great, the beer garden is brilliant, always packed out. Had lunch in here and had possibly the best fishcakes I've ever had, I would love to come back here

Excellent beer , lovely food and very attentive staff!! Cann't find anything wrong with our visit to this very good pub. Went with another couple and they too enjoyed their stay. We had the Thai Fish Curry , Pan Fied Hake and the 10oz Rib-Eye Steak. All done to perfection. The Ale included Doombar and Jail on tap with a...

Probably my favourite pub of all time. It has kept all of the character that so many have lost in the UK in their pursuit of serving great food, which I may add the Sloop does. On arrival in st Ives and after some torturous traffic my brother and I were thirsty tired and cold (it was November). St Ives...

Visited to watch rugby and felt really unfriendly atmosphere. Understandably they don't want kids there but we took them away out back so weren't in anyone's way. Was ignored at bar and stood waiting for ages and got barged in front of on a couple of occasions. Couldn't wait to finish drink to leave. sorry such rubbish review but won't...

Frequent visitors to St Ives, mostly in the summer months. Often passed by wanting to stop but put off by the fact its so popular that it is almost impossible to get in. Winter visit and easy to get in and well worth it. The food was superb and very reasonably priced. Service also very friendly and welcoming. Price of...

We have been here many times but took a short break a couple of weeks ago and came here for lunch. Yet again not disappointed, the service was efficient and friendly and the atmosphere was warm and cosy. I just have to mention the scampi as they were the best I have ever tasted! I would also like to say...
