The pub is in a great location right on the high street. A big garden and car park and outside seating also a large indoor bar where we ate. We both had steak and ale pie and mash which was very good . Full English cooked to order for breakfast also very good . Bedroom a decent size. Overall very good and we would stay again
Stayed for my husbands birthday- lovely room - nice decor - spotlessly clean - delicious pub food and hearty breakfast- very friendly staff and perfect host/owner who greeted us at check in and gave us 101 ideas for the local area. Short walk to the castle - which is definitely a must see / visit
Nice hotel, room was small and basic but clean . You can hear every word and movement from neighbouring rooms . Even when they are using the toilet . Which is funny at first but then you are aware when you use the toilet . A bit embarrassing. The staff are very attentive and welcoming also very informative. Dinner was good my partner is plant base and the vegan fish n chips was delicious. The burgers were tasty and generous portions. Breakfast was ok not the greatest and partner didn’t enjoy his veggie breakfast. One downside was the pub shut at 8pm along with others . Would I stay here again , yes as it was good value for a quick weekend away . The Wotton down the road was the only place open in the village after 8 and was jumping. Such a nice place with a great atmosphere.…
The owner Colin has obviously done a lot of work in the Cornishman Inn both inside and outside and is still upgrading the premises. Great beer & Food, both well priced. Bar staff ( Jo etc) always have a smile and a chat. Regulars including Gary all very friendly. We will call in again on our next visit.
Went for lunch after doing the cliff walk. Really friendly service, delicious fish and chips and decent pricing. The garden was lovely and the atmosphere relaxed. Look forward to going back next time around.
Outstanding pub grub with proper job Cornish service. I had the Gammon steak with roast fresh pineapple and two eggs. The gammon was the best I’ve tasted and I was told it’s from the local butcher ... well done to all. Service friendly and relaxed.
Popped in for lunch before seeing the castle. The weather was glorious so sat outside. The staff were super friendly and helpful straight away and our food came quickly after ordering. We both had baguettes which were made fresh and were really big and were really filling. Would definitely recommend!
Friend booked this as we were starting our carnitas adventure in Tintagel. Looks lovely as you arrive and ample parking behind. Staff friendly when we arrived and helped us sort out a twin out as we had ordered a double by mistake. The location is fab in the middle of the village and closer to the castle. Beds comfortable and breakfast was lovely. Couple of things Made me mark this down. Our room has a TV which didn’t work, but the owner came up to get it to work. He did but unfortunately it was quite a bad picture. Also the shower needed an overhaul as the tap area was very loose and almost came off when you turned it on.
Had lunch here on our first day, sat outside gorgeous fish and chips. Had dinner on our second night, food was lovely, but the whole evening made enjoyable by the lovely lady serving us Jo Jo a really lovely and funny lady. Hope to see you in Mevagissey one day.
We visited The Cornishman for food last year as it’s the best in Tintagel. We loved it so much we came back for a nice weekend break. The rooms are spotless and comfortable with everything that you need. The food is awesome and if anything isn’t to your liking it is dealt with immediately with no issues at all. The staff are welcoming and always on hand to help with anything. Amazing place amazing people. Colin is the best chef and host too.
