Our stay at Bossiney House Hotel was, regretfully, a wholly unpleasant experience, and I am puzzled by the glowing reviews and its 4-star label. I would welcome any justification supporting this accolade - according to standard guidelines Bossiney House Hotel just about makes 2 stars. The room was extremely small, tired and dated with chipped old pine furniture and a...

My first encounter with this person was when serving at the hotel bar on a very busy Easter Good Friday evening. She elbowed her way through the clients at the bar and addressed me with: “You have to help us, we have a serious problem” As a hotelier, this is where you use your most reassuring demeanour (and prepare yourself...

We visited this lovely Hotel and area last week for a 4 day break. We received a very warm welcome and were offered assistance to carry luggage to our room. This hotel exuded “Period Charm” and I fail to see how some reviewers can say that it is dated tired and dusty! Rubbish The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The...

We had a corner room with good views of the coast. No bath and washstand not in shower room but in bedroom itself, which is a little disappointing. Bed very comfy although some disturbed sleep from hotel bar underneath room. Nothing major however …… Very friendly hosts and staff - make you feel really at home! As did the owners...

A warm welcome, extremely pleasant hosts. Rooms simple, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ample with plenty of choice and freshly cooked, plus a variety of cereals, fruit etc.. Swimming pool and sauna. Sauna was great for helping to shift head cold! Great place to stay, would definitely return.

We read the reports on Trip Advisor and to be truthful we were somewhat disappointed by what we found against the reviews but as we know opinions vary. The hotel is easy to find and is in an excellent location. Coastal views for many rooms. The owners and staff are lovely informative people. Our room was extremely dated and would...

Stayed here as part of a walking holiday from Tintagel to Newquay; the hosts were terrific - enthusiastic about the area, great with directions, looked after us beautifully, made delicious sandwiches for our picnic lunch and we all fell for the dog, who is enormous, very gentle and so funny! The food in the evening was really good, and breakfast...

Hotel is in excellent location - easy walk into Tintagel and easy access to coastal walks. Yes, slightly lacking in "up to date-ness", but a very comfortable, friendly hotel. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice. We enjoyed a great room with fantastic views over the coastal line. Staff were very helpful and owners very attentive; helped us with suggestions for...

The owners and staff in the restaurant are brilliant, very helpful and polite and attentive, and have great knowledge of the local area and are accommodating! The food in the restaurant is great, tasty, hot and good quality! This hotel is close to so many little towns and villages in the area for sightseeing and exploring and also for walking...

The hotel and location are lovely. Easy to get to any attraction in Cornwall. Mike and Mary are terrific hosts and went far beyond the call of duty to make us comfortable. The food in the restaurant is worth staying for. Mike had upgraded our 'family room' to a suite at no extra charge. When I explained I had pick...

This a quirky hotel with huge character and staff for whom nothing is too much trouble to ensure that guests enjoy their stay. The breakfast is truly magnificent - lots of choice and all fresh and delicious. The sea views across the garden from the restaurant and many of the rooms are stunning. The hotel is 5 minutes from the...
