We stayed here despite reading the terrible reviews, we went with an open mind and no expectations which is probably why we weren't disappointed. The staff were lovely and very helpful, the room was clean and the bed was very big and super comfy, it was like sleeping on a cloud crossed with a bouncy castle, probably more comfortable than...

I love this place. I have stayed many times and will keep coming back. No-one has ever tried to brainwash me (somewhat disappointingly as I rather fancy the challenge) it's a fantastic building, brilliant location, great food, attentive staff and a unique experience. I thrive on the unusual admittedly but you would have to be pretty over sensitive to experience...

Spent the worst New Years Eve in this 'hotel'. Ears being pestered by the terrible music from a DVD of one of the owners poems (with, naturally, sales at the bar). Food was mediocre. As the previous reviewer states, the rooms were tiny with a plastic cabin as the en-suite. Service was so poor. Never again

We stayed here for 1 night in June and picked it because it was conveniently located on our way to southern Cornwall. I had read the reviews and decided I would take the chance, after all, how strange could it be. Well, pretty strange is the answer. We booked 2 Classic Kings with 4 Poster Beds. The rooms are large...

Overall, a place to come at least once. But paintings does not fit with the rest of the place, with some affronts to good taste. Otherwise fantastic sea view, lots of character, an amazing Victorian building, simple but very good food, really friendly staff, tranquility and a place to recharge the batteries.

Gorgeous setting, although what looks like a medieval castle is actually referred to as the asylum break, as this was what it reminded us of! Looks nice on the net but in reality small rooms with strange art or should I say sticker collages that are just a bit weird. Staff were friendly and breakfast was nice. Will not be...

I I took my wife to the Eden project for a birthday treat and wanted somewhere special to stay for 2 nights, my son went on the internet and found Camelot and it made her birthday very special. For virtually the same price as staying at a premier inn, we were welcomed at reception by a very nice man, who...

The website promises something that just does't exist! Yes, it looks like a castle (just) and is perched on the cliff top and the views are spectacular but that is where the good things end! The whole place is a shrine to how wonderful the owner is and his arty side kick. The reception is full of photos with Mappin...

We stayed for one night at the Castle Hotel, we paid a sea view deluxe room, which was generally ok, bathroom was newly made and was fine, bedroom was dark and the sea view we just could sort out. The dinner was a nightmare, chicken breast was dry, the beans and carrot more raw and what was called sauce looked...

We recently stayed at this hotel. thinking it would be a romantic, medieval hotel! We were a little surprised when we arrived. At the reception, we were greeted by a Hollywood hall of fame. The owner, has an obvious taste of self-admiration. The entrance is littered with photos of himself with anyone who is even slightly famous. Not a pleasant...
