Perfect location for a visit to Tintagel. Right next to the entrance to Tintagel Castle. We could actually see the castle ruins (and the beautiful sculpture) from our room. Free parking in a very busy area. Very friendly staff. Rooms are quite small. Double bed is really small for 2 adults. Shower provided barely enough water pressure to rinse my hair. Water was way too hot, could turn it colder in the end, but wasn't an easy thing to do. Food wasn't really good. We had dinner 1 evening. Very bland tasting pizza. Breakfast was very very bad the first morning: undercooked bacon, off-taste to eggs, undercooked black pudding, even the toast was bad. Second morning was better (different cook?), but we still went to the Cornish bakery next door (which is very good btw! Skip breakfast at the wootons and get some croissants or pasties at the bakery!) But worst of all: the noise... When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly guy who checked us in. But we could barely hear him due to the noise in the pub. Shouting, screaming, laughing. Ok for a pub of course, not the best welcome after a long drive though. Once we got to our room we realized that we were located right above the area with the darts and the pool table (the FAMILY room, right above the loudest part of the pub) and that the walls and ceilings are made of paper. It was like the (very loud) patrons of the bar were standing right next to our bed. Shouting, screaming, cheering, music, banging on tables, ... And this went on until at least 1:30. Second night was a bit calmer, but still. Clear to us that the pub is their primary focus. Rooms and food are an afterthought. To avoid at all costs as a family with children or as people who want to be able to sleep before well past midnight.

Very nice enjoyable meal social with friends and alongside family. Professional waiting staff and also attentive to my wife and her needs. Only let down would have been the drink choice for non alcoholic beers.

Booked for 12 persons for evening meal. 12 persons rather disappointed, 1 sent his meal back, a poor excuse for a cornish pasty, pizza like cardboard, batter on fish so hard, could hardly get teeth through it and other food decidedly average. A great pub for a drink and maybe a lunchtime sandwich, particularly on the outside terrace with stunning views. No further evening meal bookings from this party.

As we were staying in Tintagel we visited this pub a few times, both in the day for drinks and food on one evening. I opted for the Cajun chicken which unfortunately had sold out so chose the hunters chicken and I wasn’t disappointed. My husband had the battered cod burger from the specials board. The cod was white and the batter deliciously crispy. The prices are reasonable and the staff friendly and efficient. Great location In the centre of Tintagel with plenty of outside seating which gives fantastic views. I would thoroughly recommend this pub

Popped in for an early Father’s Day celebration. We both had the local ales are they were delightful. Both ordered food, the battered cod was cooked well, very flakey and crisp, however the rest of the plate, the peas and the chips were pretty much cold. My dad had the steak pasty and chips, the pasty was very mushy with not much meat inside. Overall the beverages were great, the food was barely average.

Great location on the high street in Tintagel, was looking for somewhere that was able to seat 18 of us to watch the champions league game, very friendly staff and great selection for bar meals for adults and children and very reasonable prices.
