And we have stayed in many all round the country. As previous reviews have said the hosts, Barbara and John, are charming. The welcome is warm, help to carry in bags is offered and your car is snugly parked and can be ignored as you can easily walk down and back from town unless you have quite severe mobility problems....

Couldn't fault the place, from the owners John and Barbara who were good fun, the top floor room and the breakfast. Quirky set up, own off road parking spaces and free wifi. Nice little touches from "real milk" which you then keep cool in the room fridge, chocs and biscuits in the room. Only a 5min walk to the river...

Stayed for 2 nights at this very comfortable guest house. John and Barbara are wonderful hosts and have clearly put a lot of thought into what makes a good B and B experience into a great one. Little extras such as bottled water, fresh milk, biscuits, chocolate and a (silent!) fridge were all appreciated. The bed was comfy and the...

Just spent 3 nights, very friendly owners, nothing is too much trouble. Very comfortable room with mini fridge with fresh milk and bottled water. Super breakfast with excellent choice, just ask. Hair dryer in room, tea and coffee making, etc. Will book again as great location with off street parking.

We stayed here as a couple for a week in mid-October and were looked after very well indeed by Barbara & John. We had a very nice room with a big bathroom. The fridge in the room was brilliant as it meant we could have fresh milk, which they supplied, rather than the UHT kind. The breakfast menu is extensive...

We have stayed in a few places on our frequent visits to Dartmouth and can honestly say that our stay at the Anchor House was the most friendliest. The bed was huge and comfy and the breakfast arrangements were a super idea(everyone sitting around the kitchen table). The parking space is a huge bonus as it is limited in Dartmouth...

Just back from staying 2 nights with Barbara & John. The whole house is spotless & breakfast was superb with great conversation. On site parking meant we could leave the car & enjoy walking around Dartmouth. Would recommend without hesitation.

After some confusion over our arrival time & where to park (perhaps omit reference to 180 degree turn) we found everything to be of a high standard. Particularly commendable was the provision of a fridge in the bedroom enabling us to have cold water & fresh milk, really nice in the hot weather we experienced. Also, we enjoyed the massive...

Lovely place to stay, comfy beds and fab breakfast. Visited Dartmouth for families weekend and with its parking space made it very convenient. Only a few minutes walk to the seafront. John and Barbara are very welcoming and helpful.

Stayed at this lovely B&B for a weekend for my partners birthday. John and Barbara were extremely friendly and helpful and made a fabulous breakfast that really set you up for the day. They shared lots of helpful local knowledge. Our room was nice and the fridge was a great bonus. They had been busy and forgot to restock the...
