The White Hart is a gem of a place in the centre of Exeter. It is a perfect combination of the 'Old Wing' built in 1356 and is a Listed building and the ' New Wing ' with its standard rooms and lift access , all run by an amazing team of friendly staff. This was a return visit for...

This is a delightful pub, and the room was clean and pleasant. The bathroom was extremely well appointed - even if the pipes were very noisy! We had to negotiate steep, narrow and twisty stairs - but that is the nature of such old building with such character. The service was good and the breakfast was excellent. The most important...

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the this lovely, lovely place. From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out the staff could do not do enough (especially the barman George, who knew what we wanted almost before we did, after just one day!!). The rooms are delightfully roomy and spotlessly clean and the bed, soooooo very...

Sunday carvery of magnificent proportions. Accommodating couples (And rugby teams!) alike. this centrally located hotel with two bars and an outside seating area is a great location for shopping in the town, but also a short walk from the picturesque quay area.

This is a very different hotel...it has bags of character unlike many modern hotels. Don't expect super-chic, but it's cosy, really clean and the staff are amazing. Couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. The food was brilliant also. Not enough of these traditional pub / hotels left. This is a real gem hidden in the centre of Exeter....

Loved everything about this place. Staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. We arrived early but were able to leave our car in the car park and walk in to town, which was just 5 mins. 5 mins in the other direction is the lovely quay area, with a choice of pubs/restaurants and lovely walks. The pub is quirky and interesting but...

Old coaching Inn with modern accomodation behind. Can't speak highly enough of all the staff we came in contact with in reception, the bar and at breakfast. We ate dinner in the bar which was very tasty and reasonably priced. Good choice of menu. Bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable and the room we had on the second floor...

Just returned from 5 nights at the White Hart hotel and overall have had a lovely stay. The location is great - just 5 minutes from the cathedral and a similar distance from the quay which is just beautiful. Plus the added addition of free parking was great! The hotel itself was clean and all staff we met were friendly....

We were here for 2 nights midweek and all in all very happy with the stay. Just to be clear we didn't eat dinner or lunch here just the hotel for 2 nights although our breakfasts were perfectly fine - not 5 star but good honest pub food. Our rooms were comfortable and spacious, decor was clean and in good...

Hi Michael Thank you for taking time to give us feedback. We appreciate everybody's feedback & that all have an opinion. The hotel had a full extensive refurb only 5 years ago and a full re paint less than a year ago. On top of that our maintenance team are forever going around the building trying to rectify daily knocks...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The White Hart Hotel is a Public House which boasts 55 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms (October 2015). All are non-smoking and inclusive of full English breakfast and FREE PARKING. The hotel is an old 'Coaching Inn' built in 1356! And is situated in the City Centre within the old city walls. There was an extension built on the back for 32 of the rooms in 1971 (These rooms have lift access). However the remainder rooms including the suite are located in the 'Old Part' above the Inn (These involve stairs and no lifts.) This part is a 'listed'property as the building is an 'historical place of interest' due to its part in Medievil history. The Pub boasts a large 'Chargrill Menu' concentrating on Steaks, Burgers & traditional pub classics to suit all tastes. There are 2 bars. The 'Tap Bar' is open 7 days a week and is traditional 'Olde Worlde' pub still with all the Medieval fixtures & fittings that has lots of fine Real Ales to choose from. And a 'Cider Bar' that opens at weekends and was newly refurbished in October 2015 & is where breakfast is served every morning. The pub also boasts an exclusive 'Secret Garden' very popular with couples. It's ideally situated to enjoy all the city has to offer, from its famous Gothic Cathedral, The Quay & the Princesshay shopping centre. ... more   less
