On initial arrival you can think it's a little dated and perhaps tired, but the hotel, staff, service and cleanliness are fabulous - and for great value prices. Super breakfast with amazing waiting/serving staff who are just SO nice. Fresh hot croissants brought to our table after asking if they had any instead of us going to the buffet table....

Great hotel, staff in the hotel were friendly , helpful and accomadating, the food was good and reasonable and the rooms were comfortable and I would definitely recommend. The location is very central and loved the olde world bar areas and the breakfast was great.

My friends recommended this hotel so that we could get a feeling of England during a busy business trip. The highlights are the atmospheric building itself, central location, and friendly staff. I got a single room on "the new side", and it was spacious enough. Mirrors, desk, plugs where I needed. Bathroom worked, oddities seem to be a norm in...

I can't remember when I enjoyed such a pleasant overnight stay. It was my first visit to Exeter and I opted for this hotel on its location and price, and it didn't disappoint. Received a warm friendly welcome on check in; I'd booked a single room which turned out to be the cutest, dinkiest room ever - the kind of...

An excellent find, perfect for a business trip stay over. Excellent value just £69 b&b incl free parking for a city centre location. Comfortable rooms, really friendly staff. No corporate feel. Highly recommended

We return to the warm welcome of the staff of the White Hart Inn Exeter. It is our hotel of choice being close to the centre of town and most importantly has a large free car park. It is an easy walk to the quays, cathedral, theatres, cinemas and a multitude of charity shops. Last time we stayed in the...

I stayed here the first 3 days and last 2 days of my one month's stay in Exeter. The star of the show is the building itself, with its cosy little nooks and crannies, creaking floors, displays of old photos, and overall atmospheric feel. I loved it. In general the staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast portions generous....

Lovely staff in this historic building ensure you have a nice stay here. The pub is fun and the restaurant good value and is good tasting pub grub. Breakfast was generous and delicious and serves until 11am. Could do without the music in the mornings... At these prices it's not surprising the rooms aren't perfect - they are in a...

After a walk around Exeter we decided to head down to the Quay and on route called into the White Hart for a quick refreshment. Nice cosy real pub feeling and plenty of people tucking into what looked like a superb Sunday lunch. A Marstons pub and we opted for a ring wood ale, would have preferred a Devon beer...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The White Hart Hotel is a Public House which boasts 55 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms (October 2015). All are non-smoking and inclusive of full English breakfast and FREE PARKING. The hotel is an old 'Coaching Inn' built in 1356! And is situated in the City Centre within the old city walls. There was an extension built on the back for 32 of the rooms in 1971 (These rooms have lift access). However the remainder rooms including the suite are located in the 'Old Part' above the Inn (These involve stairs and no lifts.) This part is a 'listed'property as the building is an 'historical place of interest' due to its part in Medievil history. The Pub boasts a large 'Chargrill Menu' concentrating on Steaks, Burgers & traditional pub classics to suit all tastes. There are 2 bars. The 'Tap Bar' is open 7 days a week and is traditional 'Olde Worlde' pub still with all the Medieval fixtures & fittings that has lots of fine Real Ales to choose from. And a 'Cider Bar' that opens at weekends and was newly refurbished in October 2015 & is where breakfast is served every morning. The pub also boasts an exclusive 'Secret Garden' very popular with couples. It's ideally situated to enjoy all the city has to offer, from its famous Gothic Cathedral, The Quay & the Princesshay shopping centre. ... more   less
