As everything on this holiday we were running late. However we managed to get into the restaurant and within minutes sat at a table with menus in hand. The food was superb and the service prompt and with a smile. More than I had planned to spend but the cheese board and puddings looked too tempting.

We decided to stay at the rising sun from the reviews on trip advisor, what an excellent decision. Sarah and her colleague working on Friday 16 October 2015 evening in the restaurant were absolutely brilliant not only towards my partner and I but to the rest of the customers in the restaurant. The same was on Thursday evening as well....

We were very pleased you found everything to your liking during your stay with us. The lovely comments made about the food and staff have been passed on. Rooms 11 & 12 are first floor rooms with both having great views of the harbour and surrounding countryside, and being higher up you could keep the curtains open so you can...

We have eaten here a few times on our visits to Lynmouth and the food is amazing. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. It gets really booked up so if you can't book make sure you arrive early (before 6) to chance getting a table. Lovely old English pub/ hotel. Lyouth 'closes' around 6th so a...

We would always recommend booking for the restaurant as it does get busy. Although we don't take reservations for the bar area we will endeavour to seat anybody looking to eat, this can incur a wait. We are really proud of our lovely old building so its always nice to hear when others agree. We would like to thank you...

I've been to Lynmouth countless times over the years.... bizarrely it's one of those places that feels like home - even though I'm based in the Midlands - so we try and go down three or four times a year and stay locally. The walk along the harbour wall at Lynmouth is a regular thing - and many times have...

We had a fantastic meal here last night, the camembert starter and the fish and chips for the main were both incredibly tasty (and good value). Some very nice ales and cider on tap and our bearded collie was made very welcome. Sat by the fire with a bowl of water and the staff offered her a treat too. Would...

Why, oh why can't eating establishments on the coast of the South West of England produce a half decent whitebait meal? What I mean is: it always seems to be frozen and out of a packet! Whatever happened to fresh fish dusted in flour and then fried! Really not difficult! I had the crab sandwich. The home made bread was...

As much as we try it is impossible to please all of the people all of the time although you can be assured that we do try our hardest. Everyone's tastes are different - thick bread, thin bread, salad, no salad so we do try our best to take the middle road although we will always try to meet specific...

This is a fantastic traditional old pub on the sea front. The room we had was small, I guess very typical for such an old property but very clean and comfortable. The food was first class (one of the best steaks I've had) and staff extremely attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

We are situated in a great location with both coastal and countryside views whilst still in a village. We are pleased you like the room allocated to you. We booked a table in the restaurant of the Rising Sun last minute whilst staying overnight in Lynmouth. The staff were very pleasant and able to accommodate at short notice. The restaurant is lovely, it reminded me of a 1920s restaurant train carriage with the silverware, taper candles and beautiful wood paneling. You do get the odd waft of 'musty...
