Villa Spaldi, formerly owned by the Hewitt family, is an elegantly furnished old mansion on the cliffs of Lynton. The view on the bay and the garden (half English, half Italian) are astonishing. We recommend walking down to the beautiful Lynmouth, a fishermen's village. Great hospitality and good cream teas. To be mentioned the Burne-Jones glass representing Mrs Hewitt. Mr...

My husband and I visited in June 2014. On arrival we were warmly greeted by whom I assume was the manager. Our room was beautiful, overlooking the terrace and Bristol Channel. Totally idyllic position. I chose Hewitts as I had booked a table in the restaurant many years ago, but not actually staying. The experience was totally amazing and we...

Happened to come across this place on our way to the Valley of the Rocks and decided to stop for a cream tea. So glad we did. Cream tea was excellent - scones warm, light and fluffy with the tea served in a very generous teapot. The place itself is fabulous, like stepping in to another world. The interior was...

If you are staying in lynton or lynmouth and looking for a cream tea this is the place to go. Panoramic views from the terrace, home made warm scones and induvidual clotted cream pots with a huge tea pot. Would recommend and will be returning.

Staying at Hewitt’s Hotel gives one the best of all worlds. The sumptuously appointed interior takes you back to a gentler past yet the acres of gardens on site compel you to be present. There is so much to enjoy! Between my explorations of all the many outstanding scenic trails of Lynton within minutes of the hotel door to simply...

Had a superb cream tea here Friday Sept. 20th. Scones so light and fluffy. Excellent value. Superb view from the terrace. Visited Lynton many times and we were certainly not disappointed by this venue. Would definitely recommend.

Entering the gates of Hewitts Villa Spaldi is like entering one of Alice's magical worlds: the twenty first century is given up to the Victorian age where Hewitts' house, tastefully restored and filled with 19th century memorabilia by its Italian owners, rules over a 24 acre estate of romantic beauty and a spectacular coast that is evocative of Italy's Costa...

I spent some days with my wife in Villa Spaldi in late 2011, but I never took the time to write a review, so here it is. Since we arrived at the hotel we were struck by the peaceful, beautiful panoramas, watching them from the room terrace is breath taking. We enjoyed visiting the splendid house garden, with the husband...

We visited the hewitts for a rare child free night. Having read the reviews we thought it was going to be amazing. The house is beautiful and has a very impressive approach. Upon arrival we waited a couple of minutes as the front reception door was locked. We were shown up the very beautiful staircase to our room and the...

We first visited Hewitts at the end of the 1980s - one of our first holidays away together as a couple and loved it. It was therefore with a certain degree of trepidation we decided to return - its always a risk revisiting the past and as we have travelled widely since then, I was worried it might not only...
