We hadn't been on a self drive holiday for years so decided to go on a nostalgic trip back to the hotel. The room, food, service were all really good and we enjoyed the four free drinks each on the Saturday night! Well done Shearings!

Went on a 4 day Shearings coach trip to this hotel.Although parts of the hotel need a bit of updating our room was spacious and very clean. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in room and always topped up daily. The food was very nice especially the buffet breakfast.Entertainment was ok.Overall a good stay.l

Fantastic architecture inside and out. Shame the atrium galleries had to be partitioned off for fire protection. Lift takes 8 people. We were in room 76 on 3rd floor - skirtings gungy and a loose toilet seat. Otherwise perfectly acceptable - newish bathroom and room redecorated in recent past with undamaged, matching furniture. Having seen reviews before we went we... More

We are pleased that “the staff were pleasant and helpful” and “”the food was well presented”. We agree our hotel has fantastic architecture inside and out, some of the original features are over 200 years old. We close after New Year, every year and reopen in March. Thank you Chris White 007, for taking the time to post your comments. More
