An Ideal location for Plymouth pavilions, town centre shops The Barbican and Hoe. Clean and tidy, spacious room, comfortable bed, smartly dressed staff and very good service. Lovely historical building.

We stayed for two nights with a family celebration taking place on the Staurday night. The hotel, although tired in places, makes up for this with all its character and charm. This place is your classic grand hotel with the circling staircase, compact lift and quirky bedrooms. The dining room is complete with its central chandelier, whilst a fire place... More

A great night's sleep in one of the comfiest beds possible. My large, (rear), room was protected from any traffic noise, and proper carpets in the rooms & corridors kept sound down too. No gurgling pipes, no creaks...bliss...plenty of decent towels & hot water in the nicely-decorated bathroom... ...followed in the morning by a delicious, individually-cooked English breakfast, served by... Visited for a one night stay, needed an restful night as scuba diving next day. Unfortunately although our room was beautiful and spacious it was completely unfit for purpose with the noise levels outside. There was a party on downstairs in the hotel, music until midnight, then extremely high levels of traffic noise but the worst part was the drunks... More

A very good friend of mine wanted to treat me To an afternoon in the tower with tea sandwiches and cake. The hotel didn't open the tower at this time of year but as I am heavily pregnant and didn't want a baby shower they opened it al up especially which was amazing! I can't thank you guys enough for... Had a great one night stay whilst using this hotel for The Pavillions - will do this again for another gig. Beautiful old stately building, full of character and history. Parking free but limited - found a space as we arrived early. Check in welcoming. Room small but almost everything there. Some niggles - no facial tissues and holes in... More

First time staying at this hotel as we wanted something close to the Pavillion (and it is very close). Grand looking hotel outside and in, although as others have said is dated in parts but overall good. Free car parking around the rear although not many spaces. Our room (509) was on the fifth floor with good views. Very clean... More

Room was spectacular, facilities were what we wanted, proximity to Plymouth Pavillions was main thing we wanted, it's about 2 mins walk (if you are going to a concert save £2 cloakroom fee, you are that close). We had a front facing room, not sure how it was so traffic noisy, I looked out and even with just a van... More

This is quite a quirky but pleasant hotel as alot of the original features are still on view. My room was well decorated, spacious with a twist of a modern wet room en suite. Close by to the marina it is well situated for sight seeing. My evening meal was soup and a steak nothing special but was tasty especially... More

The room was delightful. It had a wonderful view of Plymouth and was really spacious and comfortable. The whole hotel has a timeless charm and the staff are really attentive, friendly and professional. I would recommend it to anyone.
