Trying to work out whether the booking was taken fraudulently or whether the hotel closed after they sent me an email confirming booking in which case I think they could have at least extended the courtesy of notifying me so I did not have a 4 hour drive home at midnight after a long day's work.

The best thing about this holiday is that a group can really come together in adversity, and the group I was with certainly did that. Stayed here in June 2014 just after manager had unexpectedly left, taking some further staff with him. Replacement staff had hardly had time to put their uniforms on but they coped well. Very polite and competent. And hard working. Roof being repaired as it was leaking. Had to move to different dining room as water coming through roof. All should...

Stayed at the Kistor last month on a Torquay Travel coach holiday. Was pleased to be allocated a double room as being single I get used to tiny poky 'cupboards', also had double seaview. Although the carpet was extremely threadbare and one chair was fit for the tip I had everything I needed to keep me happy in the room. The...

Our stay didn't go to plan as my husband was hospitalised on our first night and although this wasn't what we had hoped for, the staff couldn't have been more helpful in every aspect. I was between the hospital during the day and the hotel at night. The food at the hotel was excellent. Well cooked, well presented and at...

First Trip with Friends, hotel does need makeover, but that is being addressed. Staff were excellent and very attentive. Good location and great time alround with good company. Food was pretty good overall and bar prices were reasonable. Would certainly look to go again next year.
