It wasn’t a holiday but an essential trip (family funeral) We had 2 rooms booked, a family room and a double. The double room was not appropriate for my father due to there being a step into and down In the bathroom, they changed this room without any complaint, the 2nd room was absolutely freezing so again the staff changed my parents room. Breakfast staff were fantastic, we had a great laugh with a lovely young lady one morning. The issue laid with the only time we went for an evening meal in the restaurant. We were seated earlier than our booking, we weren’t given menus, when the waitress eventually came over to take our drinks order and asked if we were ready to order she then brought us menus. We ordered our food it took over 50 minutes to arrive and when it did my mothers salmon dish was not as described, the broccoli was cold and my garlic bread was hard, these were replaced however the rice was too spicy (vegetable) and was inedible so we sent it back. We eventually managed to get the attention of a member of staff and tried to order sweets, the desert that my mother wanted they didn’t have so she didn’t have anything to eat. When we went to pay we were directed to the bar area to speak to the manager, who was very very apologetic, she heavily discounted our bill and seemed almost embarrassed. The excuse we kept being given was there regular restaurant staff were not In and know one knows who it works. I get the feeling we were one of many complaints. …
Standard Premier inn bedrooms - clean and very comfortable for a good nights sleep. Excellent location in the seafront and close to the town. Hotel staff ok. Beefeater cooked breakfast awful and inedible (continental OK) and front waiter cocky and patronising who seems to totally dislike his job and working in service industry.
Fantastic stay, great service and location. Meals were great. Staff were very helpful and courteous at all times. Great value for the money. Rooms were excellent and spotless. Highly recommend for a stay.
Great location right on Seafront. Lots of disabled parking spaces. Walking distance to theatre and town centre. Breakfast was amazing value with lots of choices. Worth the money and definitely worth the stay. Great memories made ,we will be returning!
Great time, kind and caring staff, amazing food choices, spacious rooms, loved the bath and shower, black out curtains were amazing and the room was just what we needed for our anniversary stay and cant wait to come back in a few months with our children for a week end :)
The humming noise which was coming from the toilet all night. Note the light was out, which usually would stop the noise. The hotel, apart from the above, was very comfortable clean and warm. The room I had, had very little traffic noise or operational noises.
A very nice hotel with large rooms, friendly staff and in a great location. Many rooms with sea views. It could do with a little refurbishment, but this will be undertaken when the new Premier Inn opens near the harbour. I've stayed here many times and never been disappointed.
A major downturn in the quality of comfort and service offered at this location.Upon arrival our room was very cold and the bedding felt damp. There were no bathrobes available and only a limited number of towels. There was no phone in the room to contact reception and I had to go down to collect an electric heater to warm the room. When going for breakfast we found only a limited amount of provisions available and the pastries that were left were stale.and no American Pancakes. The cutlery and crockery were not clean and table tops were sticky to touch
Good hotel in a good location. Reception, Housekeeping and Bar staff were polite and efficient, sadly the restaurant staff were lacking, would catch someone’s eye, say excuse me… and you would be completely ignored. Food mostly lukewarm at breakfast, one morning getting a coffee, I found a clean cup after the 4th one I picked up from the tray. Ordered the veggie bacon and sausage for a member of our party, told it would be brought to table, had to ask for it again after 15-20 minutes, when it finally got there, it was overdone and the rest of party were finished eating.
I booked my parents in for a few nights and they was really happy with how clean there room was along with a note and chocolates from their housekeeper Megan . We will definitely continue to use this hotel always clean and well kept and great value for money.
