Good value for money given the food and leisure facilities in the hotel. However our bedrooms and bathrooms were really dated and in need of a major upgrade. I wouldn't stay here if on business as could only get WiFi in public areas on ground floor even then it was weak / inconsistent. We had an enjoyable family stay as...

A very good three day weekend after the Christmas excesses to celebrate a member of the families birthday. An excellent warm welcome, helpful staff clean well prepared bedrooms with big fluffy towels. Nothing is too much trouble for most of the staff. As a vegetarian, the evening meal does not offer a huge choice, but we had a great time....

The hotel was really lovely and as a added touch there was a Santa in the window with a huge welcoming smile. The Receptionist was really nice and made us feel very welcome, the check in process was really easy. The room was huge with a separate bathroom off to one side. The hotel was like the tardis, much bigger...

The public areas of the Palace are very grand and reminiscent of its former glory. We particularly liked the guest lounge with cosy fire and comfortable seating areas. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet superb. Our room was OK - clean and had everything we needed. The shower was lovely and the bed comfortable....

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. An adage the owners of the Palace Hotel Torquay could do with acting on very soon. I booked two rooms in this hotel, relying heavily on the warm and palacios image I was treated to on the Internet. Unfortunately the reality fell well short of that expectation....

A superb building and very grand except for the bedrooms! The food and service is first class. This is the fourth time I have stayed at this hotel and unfortunately this must have counted for nothing!! I was allocated the smallest worst bedroom I have come across with a radiator that did not work, and with the kitchen extractor fans...
