Wonderful hotel, nothing to much trouble. Restaurant food was excellent, tea and a scone or afternoon tea served afternoons, is delicious. Really clean hotel, bedrooms very spacious, had sea view was excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
Were booked for our usual Christmas stay, unfortunately a fire brought our stay to an early end. The staff were excellent keeping us up dated as and when they could, the main thing was no one hurt, most guesrworked as a team helping those less able. The few days before were wonderful, great food, quizes and entertainment . Will be so pleased when can re book a holiday at this lovely hotel, where the staff go above and beyond to help you. Wishing them all the best
Sadly the hotel is closed due to a kitchen fire, some staff have been to other company hotels. Apparently repairs are expected too take 6 months. Kitchen is burnt out and restaurant badly smoke damaged.
Lovely stay and accommodation. Great Time. Will be back. Room was very clean and cosy. Comfy bed. Lovely food. Great cocktails. Entertainment in the evenings. Didn't visit spa as had a cold. Staff very professional and polite. James the barman makes great cocktails. Sea views available. Good location.
Enjoyed a truly delicious and satisfying Christmas Lunch - fantastic views, excellent service by our waiter who was very helpful and attentive, and we enjoyed it all so much we ended up booking a wonderful Cosy Winter break for January.
A great stay. Everything was great even when we needed to move room to a quieter room due to the Christmas parties. Fantastic views of the bay. The only thing I would suggest would be to slow down the dinner service, it was too rushed.
This is in a beautiful location. Nice spa, lovely food, good staff. We booked on the sunday saver, what a bargain that is, you get facilities, cream tea, 3 course evening meal, overnight stay and breakfast all included for £60pppn
Our room and the food were excellent, but there was no comfortable area to sit in the bar area although it was very large all the seating was tables and hard chairs. As it was very cold outside the only comfortable area was near the main doors and was drafty and cold.
Excellent food and a superb spa experience. All staff were extremely helpful but those in the restaurant were especially good. Dinner-generous portions and delicious! My room was spotless with a new bathroom and stunning views over the garden and the sea. Everywhere was blissfully warm and welcoming In December. Entertainment was good.
We have been staying at the hotel for a number of years now and are always treated very well, my father in law lives in Newton Abbot and we drive up from Cornwall weekly as he has dementia and deteriorated quite badly recently meaning we have to overnight sometimes due to his health. Our last experience was poor beginning with dinner which was served luke warm and cold by the time we had finished, i raised this at the time and was told the chef had been informed. The room (we were upgraded) 185 was very cold when we arrived so we turned the radiator to max and went to the bar for pre dinner drinks at 6pm and arrived back to the room around 9pm to find it just as cold. I found Katie working in the bar and explained the problem, she was very helpful in giving us an extra quilt but could not find a heater so we had to sleep with our clothes on !!! Reception the next morning was surprised we were not moved as the hotel was quiet on this occasion. The buffet breakfast is in my opinion a good change.…
