Now, I'm very hard to please, but Peter & Helen's guest house is superb in everyway..... My girlfriend and I stayed here as a treat for my birthday and we would highly recommend The Somerville to everyone, for any occasion. Our welcome upon arrival was warm and friendly - the best I can remember receiving. We were instantly made to...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night in February. We had a great time and enjoyed staying at the Somerville. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was great and Peter was a really nice host. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Helen but we did get to taste her homemade cakes, very nice! Peter was very helpful and...

We arrived much later than anticipated and expected to go straight to bed. Instead we spent a lovely relaxed couple of hours chatting and drinking with our very congenial host, Peter! Beautiful rooms with lots of attention to detail. Wonderful breakfast, plenty of choice, in lovely, sunny conservatory. Lots of parking. Great situation, close to the town. We were more...

It was spacious and luxurious with an ensuite to die for and a sweet living room looking out towards the garden (even with our own separate access to the car park). The dining area was exquisite, with plenty of character and fabulous views. The food is exceptional, hosted by the...

A great place to stay. Immediately made to feel welcome and room was fabulous. A bountiful breakfast that beat our trencherman of a son. The secret cake under the stairs was a delight. Don't bother to look elsewhere in Torquay.

Had a delightful 3 nights at the Somerville on what must have been the coldest weekend of the year. The hotel was cosy, comfortable and decorated to a high standard. Peter the owner made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend.

We arrived early and was greeted with a smile and even checked in early! The free car park was a real bonus! Walking distance into town but a bit of a hill! Breakfast...

Well what can I say ...... just amazing. Peter and his wife ( she's a great pastry/cake chef) look after you every inch of the way. Little pots of sweets on your bedroom, down to freshly baked cakes every day. Great fir sitting out on the lovely patio area. Will define return.
