My wife and I stayed at the Elmdene Hotel in Torquay in October 2012. The hotel was immaculate with stylish well-presented bedrooms. We were hosted by Carol and Andy who extended a very warm welcome. This was by far the best hotel experience we have had in a very long time.

One rare occasions I get to stay in a hotel that is so good that I think the bosses of failing hotels should be sent there for a masterclass in how it's done. Carol and Andy are so good at what they do because they enjoy it and they like their guests. Their hotel is spotless and their breakfast is...

Excellent small hotel in Victorian building in quiet residential area of Torquay. Super-clean and very comfortable large bedroom. Owners Carol & Andy were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very good. We would gladly stay again.

This hotel has a wonderful friendly atmosphere made all the more special by Carol and Andy who are super hosts. It is immaculate and very tastefully furnished throughout. We stayed in superior room No. 2 with its own little sitting room and en-suite bathroom. The double aspect windows and high ceilings made the bedroom lovely and light and the bed...

Booked the Elmdene for a visit to family due to the positive recommendations on Tripadvisor and were delighted to find the hotel lived up to all our expectations. Andy and Carol are perfect hosts, offering wonderful accommodation in a location close to the centre of Torquay. On arrival Andy made us a pot of tea with a plate of chocolate...

This is a fabulous place with the most welcoming atmosphere. The owners are both friendly, kind, down to earth people who work hard to provide a relaxing base for their guests. The attention to detail and little extras are great and well appreciated and they provide everything you need for a break away. Lovely home cooked breakfast with plenty of...

We decided to stop at the Elmdene Hotel after looking at the reviews of the hotel, and the pictures, and we were really pleasantly surprised. The photos look great, but the hotel is AMAZING! We got married on 4th August and started our Honeymoon on the 6th August. We were really well treated; the hotel was one of the cleanest,...

Elmdene is no ordinary guest house, it's a home away from home. Andy & Carol are naturals at making you feel welcome. The rooms and facilities are to a very high standard and the location is handy with a short stroll to the promenade and town centre. Breakfasts in the sun filled front room are delightful with plenty of variety,...

Andy and Carol provided a first class service for our 4-day stay. We chose the Elmdene because of the Trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The room was immaculately presented and the breakfasts were plentiful and of a very good quality. The location was very handy for the promenade and a short walk to the harbour. The stay...
