In my opinion this hotel is a good option to stay in Bournemouth, it's offer every services and its very near to the downtown of the city, I stayed there for 7 days and the experience was really good.

I was take an unbiased view of reviews because a lot of people expect 5star at budget price. I needed somewhere to stay after an event as my flight left the following morning. Trust me, I'm not fussy, I'm happy with basic and clean. Looking at the recent reviews, I thought this place was OK but I do question those...

you are supposed to get what you pay for 2 star ? I think we got 3 star nice clean place staff very helpful food very good . clean room .would definately go again .we had a very enjoyable new year stay.

After all the negative reviews on this hotel I have to say I have just got back from a coach party with my husband,and found the room we stayed in, very clean and comfortable bed,the staff were fantastic,the food was excellent,could not really fault this hotel.everyone was friendly.and would like to thank the waitresses for there good work.

My friend and I were very worried after seeing some bad reviews of this hotel but now realize you have to check for yourself !!!! We have just returned home after spending Christmas at the Maemar. what a shocking place, yes cheap, yes budget.... but this means basic not dirty and broken. The divan bed was falling to bits leaning to one side, which we wedged a chair and bedside table beside to keep it up during the night, not a one off as our friends room was the same. Myself and husband stayed at The Maemar Hotel for a night,, we were unsure what to encounter on arrival after reading some truly dreadful reviews. We were more than pleasantly surprised with our findings. room was clean and bed comphy with tea/coffee facilities and tv staff nice and band reakfast was great with plenty of choice i dont understand peoples...

I was told on arrival ,when I was asked for photo ID that the police demanded it as the local area had 3 large rehab units for drug users and criminals. One of the longer term guests sat down next to me to tell me how he had not had a good night out as the police had told him...
