We recently stayed at the Old Rectory B & B which far surpassed our expectations, this B & B offers outstanding quality in a tranquil location! Caroline greeted us, very warm & friendly the perfect hostess! We stayed in the Sherbourne room which was lovely & slept well in a very comfy bed. Lovely tasty freshly cooked breakfast with good...

If you are going to charge so much for a room please offer quality in return. Substandard bedding, worn bath mats, cheap towels (and not enough of them), noisy bathroom fan that kept us awake most of the night and when we mentioned it we were not offered a discount, tiny room, processed/packaged food for breakfast. No wifi connection in...

I have not heard any more from these guests even when I have offered to discuss their concerns but can’t leave this review without replying. They had struggled to find anywhere locally to stay as it was a very busy weekend. We were fully booked but I had an extra room overlooking the garden which I offered them. They were...

My friend and I stayed in this B&B and loved it! The innkeeper, Caroline, was warm and welcoming, the facilities were comfortable and the rooms very tastefully decorated. The Old Rectory is quietly tucked away in Winterbourne Steepleton and is close enough to Dorchester and Weymouth but far enough for a quiet rest. We really enjoyed exploring the area and...

The Old Rectory is lovely building in a quiet village, well situated for car trips to Abbotsbury, Lyme Regis, Kingston Lacy, Dorchester, Weymouth and Sherbourne. We needed to stay an extra day to get it all done! We booked late but the welcome was warm and friendly. Caroline was helpful throughout, notably with tips on picturesque routes and things to...

The hostess, Caroline, was most helpful and made me feel very welcome, even offering to drive me to the nearest pub for my evening meal, but i wanted the walk anyway. Breakfast was faultless. A lovely quiet village and house.

Great place to stay, with a lovely attention to detail not found in many places. The bedroom & bathroom were spotlessly clean with great facilities. I have stayed in many supposedly good hotels that were no where near this standard. Highly recommended.

We have stayed here for the past three years and love it. We choose the Dorchester room with a four poster bed and it has two comfy armchairs. Plenty of storage and a great power shower as well as a bath. Caroline who runs it is very charming and great for advice where to go. The village is extremely quiet...

A quiet and tranquil village and the most beautiful old house. The welcome was warm, the room spacious and comfortable, breakfasts delicious and help was generous. All credit to Caroline who knows how to make people comfortable and enjoy their stay.

If there is a more friendly, more hospitable host than Caroline, I'd very much like to meet her! From my initial enquiry to waving us off at the end of our stay, she could not have done more to make us feel at home. And what a home! The Old Rectory is lovely - we stayed in the Dorchester room....

This B&B is all that you could wish for. Our room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was just right, served in a pretty garden room. Caroline offered lots of helpful advice about where to eat, places to visit etc. We really enjoyed our stay, it was perfectly located for all the places we wanted to visit in Dorset.
