Lovely old style hotel - a little tired and in need of some modernisation but rooms spacious and clean. Very welcoming staff happy to arrange a sandwich on arrival. Lovely conservatory overlooking the sea, great for a relaxing drink/coffee/lunch. The shower water was flowing hot and cold and the lift was in need of a service.

We have just returned from this hotel and couldn't have had a better time. When we first arrived up to the hotel we noticed that the car park was very small but were advised we could park on the road as long as you didn't park over anyone's drive. The yellow lines come into force in May - September. Walking...

A friend had visited for lunch last year had enjoyed the experience and the views, so we decided to give it a try. The parking is very limited. We were lucky and had a space, but had to do the car dance to get out. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The view from the conservatory was wonderful, even...

Had stayed at the Grand previously and on this occasion, took advantage of the Waitrose offer. Very friendly and helpful reception staff and manager, sadly not really matched by waiting / bar staff who did not look as though they were enjoying their work. The room itself was a reasonable size and had good facilities including a "Smart" tv and...

Plus points: Fantastic location with tremendous views over Swanage Bay and the town in the distance. Beautiful gardens with views from dining room and conservatory. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was very good, not exceptional and portions were not large. Steps lead down to a lovely beach. Ten to fifteen minute walk along the seafront to the town....

A little old fashioned with a mainly elderly clientele but a great location. Parking gets full which might be a problem in high season with parking restrictions on surrounding roads. Staff pleasant and helpful. The lift was working and I was offered help with my bag which I didn't need (see other reviews). Overlooks the bay and is a few minutes...

We took advantage of a special offer rate for a two night stay, but somehow feel a little disappointed. The location was great, brilliant seaviews although masked by fog the days we were there. It was a 20 min walk into town along the seafront. Our room (205) was next to the lift so somewhat noisy, the room temp was...

Very pleasant public areas not least the Conservatory and Dining/Breakfast Room which both enjoy spectacular views over the Bay. Breakfast quality was first class and we enjoyed both our evening meal in the Restaurant and a lighter meal on another evening in the Conservatory. Without exception all the Restaurant and Bar staff were both pleasant and efficient. Our room was...

Visited for an afternoon cream tea. This was not our first visit for tea but we enjoyed it so much the first time we decided to return again. Excellent tea consisting of freshly made sandwiches, mouthwatering cakes and warm scones with cream and jam. A glass of bucks fizz to start and plenty of tea to pour. Seated in the...
