I stayed for two nights and had dinner one evening. The room was a twin with outstanding views across Swanage bay. The evening meal was more than met my expectations - fresh and delicious - I had sea bass for main. The dinning room was spacious and tables well spaced so not to feel intrusive. Friendly helpful staff.

From the minute I walked in to be told that I'd been upgraded from the single room I'd booked to a double with sea views, I knew I was in good hands; and I wasn't disappointed in any aspect of my stay. The happy and extremely helpful staff made this one of my more memorable "short breaks" away; I cannot...

A restful trip made more enjoyable by a welcoming staff. Breakfast was very good and all meals were excellent. The chef, Matt Shepherd, did a great job especially my wife's favourite, smoked haddock. Services was excellent and the hotel felt comfortable and welcoming

We've eaten at The Grand many times over the years and although the decor has remained the same since ,to my certain knowledge, the early 1980's the place has a real comfy charm. Currently, the menu is sufficiently varied with several enticing choices. The service is timely, friendly and serves to present the fresh high quality dishes in their best...

We booked an afternoon tea party to celebrate our Silver Wedding in the conservatory of The Grand Hotel with it's wonderful views of Swanage bay. The manager, Lindsay was so helpful in making sure all our requirements were met from the greeting with a glass of prosecco to the dainty sandwiches, nibbles and glorious cream cakes even taking care of...

We had a good sized room with a king bed overlooking the sea. The room was clean, warm and quiet - with the exception of the sound of the waves against the shore, which was wonderful. Breakfast was good. Wifi only seemed to be available in public areas, not in our room. We had dinner in the restaurant on one...

Recently enjoyed a fabulous high tea for two overlooking a sea scene to die for in the Grand Hotel in Swanage. Beautifully filled finger sandwiches, heavenly homemade cakes and scones filled with clotted cream and scrummy strawberry coonserve. Too much for us to eat! We were even offered a bag to take the rest home by the wonderfully attentive waiter...

Love staying here, and have many times while visiting family. The staff are very helpful and we had an excellent meal on NYE party night, which included a welcome bucks fizz, a meal and disco and champagne for a toast before midnight. A jolly crowd attending. The breakfast the following morning was excellent. Lovely views. Small plunge pool and jacuzzi...

We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Grand Hotel. Superb setting overlooking Swanage bay made even more spectacular due to the weather conditions. We arrived a little early but it was not a problem, we were shown to our table in the conservatory with the great sea views and brought a pot of tea, most welcome after a bracing...

We were a party of eight and a number of us felt it was like Fawlty Towers. This was probably due to the meal on the first night of our stay. We were told they were busy so we had to have our meal at 7 pm which was really earlier than we would have liked. There was no rush...
