We had afternoon tea in the conservatory on a wet afternoon. The service was very good and the views were amazing even with the rain clouds. We were advised there would be a small wait as it was prepared to order

The positive: Excellent location with wonderful sea views and an easy walk into town. There are handy steps down from the garden to the beach. Clean, good breakfast, Comfortable beds and friendly staff. The bathroom was dated but clean and functional. The negative: Limited parking so be prepared to park in the street and have a walk to your car....

Went to this hotel in May, planning to have lunch in the conservatory with incredible views but was instantly let down. I went and sat down at a table close to the window, this was around 2pm. The male waiter came over and said we couldn't sit there because the table was reserved although no reserved sign was put up...

We had lunch today at the Grand Hotel., Swanage. From the start, the staff were kind and enthusiastic. There were 4 elderly people in our group, and they were very kind and helpful. the food was delicious. The ONLY downside was that the balcony got very hot and the light was very bright. It could benefit from some blinds on...

Upon checking in, we enquired as to parking facilities. We were told that guests would soon be leaving which would facilitate a parking space for us. When asked where we park mean while, the receptionist just said "Anywhere in the street". My partner walked ahead for 2 streets whilst I followed until we found a space 2 streets away. Just...

Stayed here for an anniversary break with my partner. My heart sank when we arrived at the hotel. The front was covered in scaffolding and looked like a building site. We tried to checkin at 1pm but told check in is at 2pm which is fair enough but reception didn't even check our reservation. The inside of the hotel did...

The hotel is very dated and old.Had to park along way away as the car park so small. The cream tea was presented, itches cheap value bread with the ends curled up! The scones were rock hard, and we had a chocolate mousse in a shot glass but no spoon to eat...

This was my second stay at this hotel, Swanage is a part of the UK we come to every year, The hotel is built at the end of the sea front as it is away from the main part of the town which is at the other end, the car park is small so we had to park away from...

The Grand Hotel was not our first choice for an overnight (kidfree) stay in Swanage, however after trying unsuccessfully to book one of the cheaper B&Bs the Grand was our only option. I really wanted our experience to justify the £130, but sadly it didn't. The staff were all polite and helpful (particularly the receptionist on Saturday night) the hotel...

We stayed one night and it could be straight out of an Agatha Christie novel, I could just picture Jane Marpel sitting with her knitting and be totally at home. Fabulous location with a lovely garden and stairs down to the private beach, we loved it. Some would find it a bit tired but we thought it charming, we had...
