Very friendly, comfortable and quiet. Free wifi which is an important point as there is no mobile signal there (I'm on Virgin). Good breakfast which can be served from 7 am. That's important to me as I tend to wake up early and don't like waiting around to get breakfast before getting moving on the next days walking

Set in a really beautiful village. Very cosy and compact. Large bed king size bed was good but the room did feel cold. Very nice cooked breakfast. Child friendly tea rooms. Very pleasant hosts. Nice area to walk in.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you found the room cold, the heating is thermostatically controlled and we usually have people ask us to turn the heating off! I wish you had said something, it only takes a minute to turn heating up and we are always happy to do so on request.

Can't fault this fantastic little place. Went for brunch with my friends, I piled in with pram and baby and they were incredibly welcoming. I'm dairy free and they had loads of options for me to have off the menu, offered 2 different milk alternatives to have with my tea and the most delicious dairy free cakes! I will definitely...

We stayed here for one night as we were attending a wedding in the village. An early check in from 12 was great and allowed us to get ready before the wedding in the afternoon. The room was a decent size and very comfortable. We had the ensuite room with a bathroom that was absolutely spotless. The owners were very...

A very pleasant BnB, comfy bed and good facilities in this gorgeous village. Hosts were friendly and helpful and the breakfast menu is fantastic! I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg which set me up well for the last leg of my walk to Eastbourne. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Chestnuts Bed & Breakfast as part of a walking holiday, and it is highly recommendable! It is a really charming house full of hospitality, and I felt very welcome even though I was not quite the cleanest person after a hard day of walking:) The B&B is in the picturesque village of...

We had two rooms as we were attending a wedding in the village. Rooms very comfortable and I could not have asked for anything else in the room as it was very well stocked. Breakfast was a feast and was delicious. Would certainly use it again if we were down in the area. The establishment is located very centrally in...

We were walking the South Downs Way and stayed here 1 Sunday night. Shared facilities and on main road, but priced accordingly which suited us. Bedroom and whole establishment well looked after and interesting with friendly hosts.

My wife and I visited Alfriston, on Wednesday, which really is a lovely historic and quaint village. Lovely old buildings and scenic walks along the Cuckmere river & South Downs. The Chestnut cafe is at road level and has about ten tables inside. Nice friendly atmosphere and furnished well. The staff were welcoming and had reserved us a table for...
