The staff here were ok. The room and hotel were not modern in the least. The room we had was very odd in the fact that it had a downstairs to the room where we were told the maids would stay in the past or children. We never ate here so I cannot comment but I believe we had wifi....

I'm sure it was once a magnificent hotel BUT it is now very very tired. Breakfast with a nice view of the sea was ok but very expensive. The rooms are big but sparse and the beds are very small. The lift was not working. They are renovating the outside and should do the inside too

This was our second visit to this hotel this year. We had booked and paid for 5 nights over the Christmas period. We had travelled up from Devon and having checked in earlier had spent the evening with friends. We returned to the hotel at 11pm and duly went to our room, looking forward to retiring as it had been...

I was concerned when I read recent reviews for this hotel. I went with 6 friends for the New Year. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment and when you are a guest it can be annoying. We were able to compare rooms and they went from a tad tired to wow great refurb. Having said that, the 'tired' rooms were comfortable,...

Was impressed with the ground floor at reception, lovely xmas tree. Stayed for 4 nights to see new year in. Room had a large living area, with tv and sofa, dressing table and facilities for making tea and coffee. Bedroom and bathroom with bath and over bath shower facility. Although place very nice, it wasn't the best decorated, needed a...

There is something very comforting and warm about this Ol gal. I imagine in her prime she was a sight to behold and it has definitely not all gone to rack and ruin. There was a full on exterior paint job going on while we were there (to a really high standard) - the rooms were high ceilinged and well...

Well maintained on the outside. Inside the environment needs completely refurbished . The bedroom was huge and the furniture quite tatty... a sofa in the room was very dirty and the curtains didn't close properly. The locks on the windows did not work and old newspapers had been stuffed in window cavities to keep out draughts. The bed was clean...
