We stayed for 3 nights over Easter in a suite and had a fabulous time. The hotel has been refurbished since last year and our room was excellent. The staff are very professional and extremely helpful and friendly. The receptionist even remembered us and our names from last year. The restaurant and bar are lovely with delicious food. We will...

This hotel dates back to the 1830s and Queen Victoria once stayed there. It's a lovely place to stay, typical of the grand seaside hotels of the Victorian era, now slightly faded in looks, but all the more charming for it. There are more modern hotels with brighter and whiter decor, but they have only a tenth of the charm....

We stayed over Easter bank holiday just for a night and were pleasantly surprised. The room was quite cheap and on offer so we weren't expecting much but the room was large, clean and had a wondeful sea view. The decor of the hotel is a little dated but then it's an old hotel in an old seaside town -...

Just spent the weekend at the Best Western Royal Victoria on St. Leonard's beach front. I had a twin bed room overlooking the sea. The room was very large with an adjacent small room with a desk and ample wardrobes. There was a bath and toiletries included. I have stayed here a few times and love it and always have...

Stayed for one night with my 2 children(10 and 13). The room had a double bed and a single so I asked about having a Z bed to use for myself and it was in the room by the time we got into it. All staff were polite and welcoming when we saw them around the hotel and they all...

I have only used this hotel once and will not do so again. Recently they were in the local newspaper being heavily fined for lack of safety and security. when you arrive the front of the hotel is all light bright and repainted but the inside is in my opinion the worst I have every seen. the staff though nice...

Thank you for taking time out to review the hotel, Margaret. The recent press coverage you refer to relates to a fine dating back to 2012. We would like to make it very clear that the hotel is currently up to date with all health and safety regulations. It is not clear quite why you think that the hotel has...

Booked this through a voucher website and to be honest we wern't expecting much! But the hotel exceeded our expectations. Imposing and grand exterior that was being painted and renovated as we arrived and we were greeted by a very frinedly lady on Reception. The hotel does exude a feeling of a by-gone age but everywhere was clean and all...

Thank you for your fantastic review. Our friendly staff and extremely spacious rooms are two of our main selling points, so it's great that you picked up on that. All of the rooms have their own quirky features so hopefully you'll be able to try out a different one for a future visit!

Booked in for one night, booked by employers. On arrival after finding parking, given room 404. The receptionist made sure to tell me that it's a Sea View Room. Great I thought, being that it was a lovely day, I'll get to my room and look out to a beautiful blue sea. On entering the room, to my horror, I...

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. Whilst we understand the frustration of finding that the sea view was blocked by scaffold, it is worth noting that the room booked and paid for was a standard room with no view. That being said, had you called down to Reception to report your displeasure we would have tried...

We only stayed for one night, but for the short time we were there it was good! The decor is pretty dated, but that's part of the charm I think! The room was massive and it was worth the price. Lots of lovely cafes and restaurants close by
