This inn/hotel is pure nostalgia located next to a fabulous arboretum and a boarding school. Service lovely, building superb and a staple when passing through the area. Will recommend it over and over again to many I cross paths with around the world. Nostalgia - I repeat myself - but juts good 'ol Gloucestershire and a sense of "home".

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch in the relaxing restaurant. Excellent service, very good standard of food and wines and comfortable chairs. Decor and seating attractive. Set lunch good value. Dining room inviting and ambiance good. Second visit to eat, third overall. Plenty of areas to enjoy a drink outside. We will definitely return.

We went to the Hare & Hounds for my mother's 90th. I must say, it was a bargain. We got a great deal that included B&B and a tasting menu for dinner. The food was fantastic, and we took the flight of wines, which were perfect. Lovely dinner. Breakfast was good too, with proper table service. The twin room for...

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were amazed just how good this was. The staff, the room and restaurant was superb and better than many 5 star establishments we have been lucky enough to visit. We booked on the special occasion package which included a bottle of champagne on arrival, in room chocolates and a...

We arrived at the hare & hounds hotel Thursday 28th May for a wedding reception. The grounds of the hotel are simply stunning. We booked into the family room for the night with our 3 children. Our room was immaculate, beds where 5* for comfort & we had all we needed to make the stay perfect. The staff were very...

If it's not clear from the other reviews The Hare and Hounds is obviously a great place to celebrate a wedding. From our experience however it's somewhat unsuitable if you're not celebrating a wedding and instead hoping for a good night's sleep. We stopped off for a night at the Hare and Hounds in late May for a way to...

We stayed two nights in a cottage room located away from the main hotel. The room was supremely well appointed with a superb bath and shower. A good and easy to use TV. The beds are very big and very comfortable with premium grade linen. The ground sof the hotel are supremely well maintained to the point of being a...

We stayed here for a long weekend, and it was exactly what we were after. It was really relaxed but with attentive service whenever you needed it. It had the character of a countryside B&B but the clean and luxurious feel of a high-end boutique hotel. We dined in the pub area the first night which was great food but...

Met a friend here for lunch, both of us were driving so wanted a soft drink with our lunch - horrified to find a pint of soft drink priced at £3.30. Food ok, but chips too salty and ended up leaving half of them. Won't be coming back here - much better places locally

booked a twin bedded room for my elderly mother and I for one night's stay to celebrate her 90th birthday, with a single room booked for my brother. Our room was in a separate lodge (oak) which was chosen because it was at ground floor and therefore suitable for the less ambulant. A parking space close to our room was...
