I stayed in February, and the prices were very very reasonable, in August it is more expensive, but still one of the cheaper hotels in Southampton. My room was very hot, I went back to reception and asked to be changed, which I was without any problems. My new room was massive, two double beds, it was very comfy. The...

We have used this hotel on several occasions. Ok it is not the plushest of hotels but it is good value in a city that can be expensive especially when Cruise Ships are in. Ok it is in need of some TLC, which it is now getting by the looks of it. Starting from the outside. We noticed signs of...

I paid for 2 nights in this hotel and wanted to leave after 5 minutes of entering our room, the hotel upon arriving was hot Because of heating on in the middle of August, went to our room where the smell of damp welcomed us, the corridor to our room had slanted floors, could hear everyone's televisions as we walked...

The hotel is an ideal location for the city centre with shopping and restaurants nearby. This is my 3rd or 4th time overnight in Southampton and will be very honest I usually stay in the Ibis at West Quay. Unfortunately they were fully booked on the date I needed. The staff at The Star I can not fault, but the...

Friendly staff great location but like so manyEnglish hotels it shows how little the owners care . The hotel is in very very bad condition the carpet around the hotel is simply a disgrace , if you have multiple bags you are in for a back breaking experience no elevator for the rooms in the back of the hotel. The...

Booked one night so that I could attend a friend's birthday party. Website said there was car parking - I emailed the hotel a few days before to ask whether I needed to reserve a space; no reply. On arrival, there was only room for about 10 cars - and all spaces were taken. Ended up in the multi-storey across...

Staff are friendly and helpful. This hotel is in a great location near the isle of wight ferry terminal with many bars and restaurants nearby although it can be very noisy after they close. Also near the old town and walls etc., one way and shopping centre the other way. the hotel has a certain character, but needs refurbishing. It has...
