The hotel is an old house which has retained all of its British country house charm, stunning inside and out. The staff were impeccably attentive and polite and service was outstanding. Our dinner couldn't have been better, most divine dinner we'd ever eaten! The basil martini I enjoyed as an aperitif was completely divine.. Every detail of our evening was...

Took my partner here for her Birthday. We had an amazing time from the minute we walked through the door. Nothing was too much trouble. We had the Garden Suite which is simply stunning. We then had the Tasting menu instead Avenue Restaurant which has to be one of the best we've had. A small very relaxed dinning room with...

We had the pleasure of staying in this hotel on Thursday evening. I was in a work conference all day and my wife joined me in the evening. The food was great all day, but the staff are certainly the jewel in the crown here. Everything was taken care of, and the attentiveness of everyone we met was fabulous. I...

Great service and fabulous setting, although I felt that the menu and wines could have been less expensive. Quite a small dining room and on the night we were there we overheard every word being said on the next table. Really good service though and even the car was parked for us. I would go again but probably only for...

It was a 70th birthday and all food was pre ordered. The food was excellent as was the service. Flowers delivered from the Blooming Workshop too. A great recipe for a private party. Mid week we were not charged for the private dining room, called the Mountbatten room

This is a very lovely hotel. The building itself, grounds and rooms are all really elegant and well kept. We stayed in the Oak room which was on the ground floor and had a large bedroom with a study area and access to a small courtyard garden. The bathroom was really big with a whirlpool bath and large walk in...

Amazing setting, easy to get to from the M3. Plenty of parking. The hotel and its grounds are exceedingly well kept. Room was a suite in a newer part of the hotel. Massive room, very comfortable with whirlpool bath and shower. Every thing I needed was on hand, bed was huge and comfortable, pillows a bit squishy but there were...

We can't believe we didn't know of this lovely hotel during the last twenty odd years we've lived in Hampshire. Just fancied a DBB and this popped up in searching for five star deal within 30 miles. Arrived to find a lovely room, Holly, bottle of fizz in ice bucket for the Friday Special DBB package. Terrific room....with infinity bath,...

We initially chose this hotel because of its relatively easy access to Heathrow Airport. Driving up the long winding drive, we arrived at a lovely, large old country house hotel. We were on holiday but the hotel does have facilities for business conferences and has just begun a cookery school. We were greeted warmly and shown to a most comfortable...

Drive through the gates of Lainston House, up the winding drive, you will enter a world where historic charm and contemporary elegance blend seamlessly. This charming 17th-century country house is a luxurious five star hotel, encapsulated in 63 acres of Hampshire parkland. A peaceful drawing room, sumptuous individually designed bedrooms and food created with passion (awarded 3 AA rosettes). The Cedar Bar is the place to relax for a cocktail and the outdoor terrace is even more so for sipping a glass of Champagne or a chilled glass of wine over a light lunch in Summer months. Don't forget to book for Afternoon Tea, a day in the on-site Cookery School or a spot of Falconry, located at the back of our stunning kitchen garden. This is a classic Country House where you can put the world behind you whether it be for a creative meeting, a relaxing leisure stay or a family celebration. Minutes away from the historic city of Winchester and only a short drive from Salisbury, Stonehenge and the New Forest. Visit Jane Austin country, Highclere Castle (home of Downton Abbey), Bombay Sapphire Distillery or a local Vineyard such as Hattingley Valley.
