I really liked this hotel. Ok it is in need of a make over and is a little tatty and threadbare in parts but it's old and clearly used to be very grand. It's very large, with a grand restaurant and bar. Staff were lovely. Room was fine, very clean, dated but comfy. Location couldn't be better, close to everything....

Stayed at this hotel for one night. Being placed right in the centre of town, close to the cathedral and shops it is ideally located. But if your looking for a high spec hotel don't go there. This lovely hotel must have been in its day the place to stay, but it has been neglected for so long it's bordering...

You should think twice before staying here and find an alternative if possible. The location is excellent but the very accommodating staff must struggle to deal with the disappointment of guests when they first arrive. The hotel is clean but completely passed it's sell by date unless major investment takes place. I felt sorry for the staff some of whom...

Let's be clear. This is not an expensive hotel so one must in the general scheme of things, lower your expectations. It was once a very grand place to stay and there is much evidence of a splendid past. The location is perfect. Very close to the cathedral, main shopping district and not that far from bus and rail stations....

The check in process was quick and trouble free. The staff were friendly and helpful. When we arrived at our room, which was easy to find, we were very surprised and impressed by the size, decor and tidiness of the room. The television actually worked properly with all the freeview channels. This was a great start to our visit so...

We stayed here for one night, a Saturday, following a visit to the nearby amazing Chase Distillery. Two very good friends joined us and we had two standard rooms. Our last visit was almost 10 years ago and back then the hotel was dated and in need of upgrade. Fast forward almost a decade and it is exactly the same!...

The hotel is perfectly appointed to enjoy the Cathedral, shops & restaurants in the city. The rooms are large with everything you need. Sadly we had almost no sleep at all due to some extremely noisy guests that had no respect for anyone else. Screaming, shouting & running up & down the corridors from. 2.00 -5.00am. The night Porter did...

We went to surprise my partner's son for his birthday so only a short stay. The member of staff on reception was very friendly though there was as expected no parking available though they directed us to a paid car park. The hotel was fine though a bit dated, our room was large and well heated.

Like going back in time to hugh sitting room chairs in lounge- creeky floor boards around hotel and bedrooms - absolutely love the place. Plenty of space. So near the Cathedral , shops and places to eat.

This is obviously a historic and important building in Hereford. It's been a hotel for a very long time, and the building has loads of wonderful period features (all the calling bells at the top of the stairs). It's obviously an enormous financial commitment to run and to maintain. In truth it seems the owners are just about keeping up...
