I've lived in Canterbury on and off for five years and yet had never heard of Arthouse until now, but it was a very happy find. We just stayed for one night and were the only guests so we had the house to ourselves. Our room was clean, tidy and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was similarly... More

The property was clean, neat, tidy and tastefully decorated and furnished. We had a nice experience here and the location is perfect, really close to the centre and restaurants. It's really peaceful and quiet. Do not hesitate to book in this stunning and cosy hotel, you will feel like at home. The room had a super comfortable bed and mattress... More

We rented the Arthouse for our extended family visiting for our wedding. They were coming for the whole week and as a large group it had been tricky to find suitable accommodation in a central location for a reasonable price. From the beginning of our contact with the Sebastian and Adelle we were very impressed. They were approachable, friendly and... More

Spent the bank holiday weekend there and can honestly say that i'd go back gladly! Communication after booking was great, with quick emails and responses - setting everything up was smooth and the price was good. The location is ideal, it being about 5 min walk from the city center and the arrangement for breakfast with a local cafe is... More

The property was clean and big enough for three families to have a comfortable stay. The owners, Adelle and Sebastian, were most helpful and tips for attractions and trips around the are were provided. Parking space was big enough for a mini-van. Overall a lovely, well furbished house that I greatly recommend.

We have spent a night at the arthouse, were looked after fantastically by our hosts, who although not at the property were on hand instantly when needed. This B & B is in a great central location for the all bars, restaurants and Marlowe theatre. Would recommend it to anyone and intend returning ourselves.

Utterly snobby owners, looking down on us with our Northern accents. Wouldn't ever stay there again. Tacky looking art , no style have no idea why they call it an Arthouse. The bed was knocked up plywood with a hard mattress.

Please note that this review is questionable as was posted off the back of a repeated programme of Channel 4's three and four in a bed featuring the previous B and B owners. We do not have any beds made of plywood nor do we look down on anybody as stated in this review. One of the owners is from... More

We stayed a couple of nights at the weekend for a nice retreat-my partner went to uni here some years ago and we were revisiting some of her friends. Our first impressions were great, the place was clean and highly stylised, the layout is fantastic. A beautiful living area, diner and a full functional kitchen perfect for self catering. We... We stayed in the garden room. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, the private bathroom was compact but perfectly fine, and we had a private parking space in the court yard which was very convenient. We met one member of the team (possibly the owner?) who was very friendly and polite. Where we were out of the main... More

Excellent concept. DIY breakfast if you wish - a range of cereals available and various coffees, teas etc. For a small extra payment you can go out for an absolutely first rate breakfast at The Refectory which is a stroll down the road almost next to the city gate. Pleasant room on the front of the house overlooking local streets.... More
