Here for one night got free parking and great location. The bar and public areas are stunning, very boutique hotel in feel. Bar has great drink selection. Alas the bedrooms do not carry that vibe, bathrooms in particular very tired. Really in need of an upgrade but bed comfy and sheets clean. Breakfast is great quality produce freshly cooked.

Went to this hotel with my partner for a surprise birthday treat. Can't fault the bar & dining area, it has been decorated and updated to a very good standard. The bar & reception staff were very friendly. Everything was fine until we got to our room (Room 18) The interior was old and in need of a complete overhaul....

The hotel is just round the corner from Canterbury West station and a few steps from the city centre. The building is old (this is one of very first hotels in the country) and full of character. Interiors have been recently renovated and rooms are quite comfortable. My standard room was in a separated building facing the courtyard --- it...

We were there for one night as we had to attend our sons graduation the following day, The location of the hotel is perfect for this. The staff were very nice & polite. The bed was comfortable & a pleasant room with a good amount of space. Unfortunately the tv was positioned at the side of the bed rather than...

We stayed down at the Falstaff for two nights. We really liked the hotel and it's in a great location. We stayed in a double room which was well equipped and very comfortable. We were a short walk across the courtyard from the main building and unfortunately the hotel were very slow in gritting this area in the morning and...

Stayed for one night for my daughter's graduation. Very helpful staff and room comfortable and clean if a little in need of sprucing up. Bed very large, comfortable and crisp cotton linen. This hotel is very convenient for places to eat though did not offer food itself while we were there, except breakfast which was very good with full English...

We had a large room in the Woodmill area (room 45) a wonderful comfortable large bed, very clean and warm. Very helpful and polite staff, superior breakfast and is in a perfect location close to the town and attractions. We would definately stay again.

A centrally located period hotel and perfect for exploring what Canterbury has to offer. Stayed for two nights and enjoyed excellent cocktails and friendly service. Room was disappointing in particular bathroom - a throwback to the 70s with random unattractive warning stickers. (Room 18). Bed comfortable though and good breakfast included. I think there are nicer rooms judging from website...

Very nice hotel in a really great location, with an easy stroll into the town and cathedral. Room clean and warm (very cold day and night), maybe could do with a bit of a spruce up but it was fine overall. Staff very friendly and efficient couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast tasty and well cooked. We would definitely stay...

Just metres from Canterbury's medieval West Gate, this charming building dates back to 1403. A former coaching inn, it offers free WiFi and free parking, 2 minutes' walk from the city centre. The Falstaff still retains many original features, including oak beams and an open log fire. Each room has a TV for guests to use, and facilities for making tea and coffee. The hotel offers a cooked to order full English breakfast as well as self service buffet option. The bar offers a range of wines and variety of exclusive cocktails. Canterbury West Rail Station is a 3-minute walk from the building. The city's spectacular Norman cathedral can be reached in less than 10 minutes on foot. ... more   less
