For a stay in Canterbury this historic hotel is in a prime location, right in the centre of the city and with the rooms overlooking the Cathedral Close or the medieval street. Every member of the staff make you welcome you are made to feel immediately at home in this medieval hotel. I found staying here both relaxing and loved...

From the minute I checked in the staff were amazing, really helpful. I did not use many facilities as I was in Canterbury for work but would love to return to this hotel for a leisure visit. Very quirky and authentic and the location was fantastic. Would definitely return.

My second stay here for my graduation in Canterbury Cathedral. Smack bang in the middle of the shopping and eating area in the oldest part of town. The hotel is so old and I love the wonky floors and walls. Continental breakfast is included with beautiful fresh fruit salad. Real, tasty fruit chopped. A choice of thick and creamy yoghurt...

We have used this hotel twice now and will definitely be booking again in the future! Great location in the centre of town right on the doorstep to the front of the cathedral. This quirky hotel hosts the charm and character of the century's old cathedral building. Our room was cosy with a comfortable double bed, TV and kettle. We...

Thank you for your kind words which are appreciated by both myself and all the staff. Half of the rooms share bathrooms and we are glad that you were happy with the standard to which they are kept. The layout of the hotel is such that all the rooms can not be changed to en-suites but on the upside this...

We stayed in fantastic room, it had a lovely view of the Cathedral. Our own shower and toilet and a four poster bed. It was very private, cosy and comfortable. If your looking for a modern hotel with characterless rooms this isn't it. Expect unique and quirky with friendly and very helpful staff (I can't say that enough praise for...

Thank you for posting such a lovely review. We do feel fortunate to be running a hotel that is a piece of history as reflected by the sloping floors, crooked windows and low doors! It is a pleasure to read that you enjoyed your stay and have made use of our small bar on your visits. We hope to welcome...

Stayed here for two nights and the place has its own unique charm. Its in a great location to see everything in Canterbury and of course, the cathedral is right on your door step. We really loved our room, it was a good size and we got fresh towels on both nights. Also got breakfast to the room - no...

Guys this place is a solid 5*. Our room (Nightingale) had a view of the Cathedral and it was stunning, also rocking a 4 poster bed which was a welcome surprise. The breakfast is continental and included in the price. Tho for a small surcharge you can have a full English and even get it brought to your room. Thank...

Booked two nights at the hotel for New Year. The set up of the hotel is very strange with the hotel mainly being on the first floor across several neighbouring shops. I had requested a view of the Cathedral but unfortunately ended up with a room overlooking some shops at the front. I wasn't aware of the hotel layout including...

The Cathedral Gate hotel is not only easy to find - it cannot be missed - but also a memorable and historic place in which to stay. The oddly laid out hotel is several hundred years old, as the sloping floors and jumbled layout so aptly attest. Our room was comfortable, simply furnished and cosily warm despite the driving rain...
