I visited on 20th December. It's a hotel with a lot of history and character. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable. The location is ideal right in the centre of Canterbury with views of the cathedral.

We stayed here for two nights the weekend before Christmas. It's a nice friendly warm hotel. The room was clean and the shower was nice warm and powerful. I have no complaints ref Hotel or room. Just an observation...The bed was a little on the small side being a 4'6 bed. Canterbury was lively to say the least! There were...

The hotel was conveniently situated for pubs, restaurants, shops, surprisingly it was extremely quiet and the bed was comfortable which enabled us to get a full night's sleep. The hotel was immaculately clean, staff were attentive, breakfast was good value, our room was warm and well appointed, the ensuite bathroom was roomy and clean. We would definitely use the hotel again and...

Stayed for 1 night on 4th December. Was a lovely hotel, perfect location, well presented and clean room, nothing too much trouble for the staff. The bar was a great place to have a drink before heading out for the evening. Breakfast was delicious too. Staff were happy to look after our bags while we did some more exploring even...

This was my second visit to the Cathedral Gate, It's a comfortable hotel, with friendly, helpful staff and management. I had a lovely continental breakfast (the wonderful smell of freshly baked crossiants) and good coffee. It offers world charm and character with modern, tastefully designed rooms, and v.clean factilities. Good attention to detail. The hotel is not just a lovely...

We stayed at the Cathedral Gate for my daughters graduation from the University of Kent. The hotel is next door to the Canterbury Cathedral where the graduation was held so it couldn't have been more convenient. For a building that was constructed in the 1400's, it was very well kept up but maintained the old world charm! There are plenty...

I visited from Bournemouth and stayed with my mother and was in Evensong for 2 nights! The shower pressure made me feel as if I hadn't had a real one for weeks!! The bar was handy for a glass of wine in the evenings and the continental breakfast and fresh fruit was delicious with the views of the town in...

We spent two nights here and were very happy. We stayed in Nightingale and enjoyed a partial view of the cathedral. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. The rooms were clean. Excellent location. Even car parking round the corner is not that big a problem once you have overcome the nightmare of a one way system....

One of the best thing about this hotel is its location, slap in the heart of central Canterbury and walking distance to the shops, bars, restaurants and sights. It's worth being aware that the sat nav will tell you that you can't drive up to it and need to walk the last bit. Actually even though it's pedestrianised you can,...

I have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions now, and will return, business or pleasure. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I have noted a couple of reviews on here complaining about parking, You will find it very difficult to find any hotels in the centre of Canterbury with on site parking. Cathedral gate hotel offers a...
