First impressions were very good, Decent size room, nice bathroom and a very congenial host. great location being not more than 5 mins away from Westgate - however the cracks started showing after the first night. Seemed like a good breakfast but tomatoes not cooked, scrambled egg 'watered' down with milk and a constant request for more butter sachets for...

Booked a Deluxe room but given a standard double as rooms were all taken. Room was small but ok and comfortable. Shower was dreadful as water flow was inadequate. Lots of extension sockets plugged in so looked untidy. Owner was friendly and polite and breakfast was good. On the whole, average though expensive for what we got.

We stayed here in two rooms when we went to an event at one of the local University events. The service was great; we were accommodated though we came in early with no warning. Breakfast was speedy and tasty, free wireless much appreciated. The location was easy walking distance to town and there was some free parking to all the...

We planned a last minute trip and I found this place through the Canterbury tourism website. I booked on the Thursday for Saturday night and the website said they would send me a confirmation email within 24 hours (which should have been Friday morning). I got an email from the website which I didn't read properly and took as confirmation...

We had three nights at the Alexandra house, which was able to accomdate us at the last minute without any hassles. We had to change rooms after the first night, but they made it very easy. We enjoyed our stay there for many reasons. The location is great; just outside the west gate, so easy access. Off the main road...

The Alexandra House is situated only a few minutes from the city centre, so it is excellent for exploring the beautiful historic town of Canterbury and it is also good for those who don't have a car. The rooms are clean and spacious. The only negative point is the bathroom because it is very small, but as it was very...

The manager was great, a really friendly and helpful guy. The rooms are very smart, clean and tidy. There was a good choice to order from on the breakfast menu that tasted great and you could also go up and help your self to cereals and juices. It's about a 10 minute walk from a Canterbury city centre.

Alexandra House is well situated but looks a little scruffy from the outside. Our room was comfortable & well presented. The bathroom however was another story & needed a good clean. The grouting had black mould, the soap dish in the shower had a green deposit & the extractor fan sited right over the basin & toothbrushes appeared not to...

Just stayed for one night at the Alexandra House, most of what we experienced was positive, the rooms were clean, well equipped with most of the fixtures and fittings i.e. bed linen, TV etc, being nearly brand new, the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, and the service friendly. The down side was that although having booked and...
